Nice to see guys like Zapala, Hamoda, Dorius, and Jones having good years and getting significant playing time at their respective schools.

Re: The Linebacker Position
For those experts out there, can you explain the difference in player skillset needed for each of the 3 LB positions? What would make a player better suited for say weak side backer versus strong side backer? I’m just wondering how interchangeable personnel are.

It could be a lot worse. There were times in the past when we hardly had one guy worthy of starting. At least now we have 4 dudes that have all started and shown levels of success. What if I told you we had the following 4 dudes in our qb room? In random order. Dude 1) 6’5” 230 lb, 3 year starter fo...

Same number as usual. Petras replaces Levi’s departure and Barnes is taking the qb spot that remained vacant when the high school kid from Cali (Jesse) pulled a fast one on us and flipped to Michigan State on signing day.blueaggie wrote:We need defensive players not another QB. Not sure he’ll win the starting spot but it never hurts to have a Trojan killer on the team when you have USC on the schedule. It’s unfortunate we don’t have San Jose too! If anything, the kid is a gritty warrior and has a chip on his shoulder. Should help push the whole qb room. QB1 and QB2 positio...

No, it does look official but some of us are just a bit confused. Nothing from any media outlets after 2 days, and 22 also hasn’t listed him yet and has been eluding to another defensive commit but mentioned he can’t say who. If Cage is that guy, then I’m not sure why no one is talking about him. Th...

Re: New commit - Jan 7
There was the usual coach's reaction to a commit on the 7th and the 8th. I assume one was Barnes and the other is still to be determined. Am I correct? GREAT QUESTION my Aggie brother! Let's get a commitment reset. There were two "coaches reaction" on the 5th. That was defensive tackle Miguel Jacks...

Martinez was always assumed to have 2 years left. Brown and Agbonkpolo are the two we planned on running out of eligibility. Max will be applying for a medical redshirt. Not sure how Brown would get another year though.Dkdavis wrote:Ian Martinez could get another year as well?

There was one voter in the AP Poll that didn't have a single MW team on his ballot. https://collegepolltracker.com/basketball/pollster/brice-cherry/2023/week-10 lol. So I saw something posted yesterday by Bryce Cage saying he signed with USU. A 6’4” 255 lb DE transfer from Texas State. Haven’t seen anything from USU or 22 confirming this though.

I happened to be in Logan dropping off kids and attended the game. Great atmosphere and fun to watch. TBH I was a bit surprised they stormed the court but it was a close and emotional statement win, so I get it. I walked down on the court to join my kids after it died down a bit and noticed a dozen ...

Is Stevens really an NBA point guard? Don’t see many at his height. The lack of height will hurt his chances. Nah, he is 100% an NBA point guard. Iverson is only 6' tall as well. His quickness and shot release is what will make him in the NBA. I'm glad we were able to hold them off. Great effort by...

Sprink will win a natty one day if he's selective with his moves. Don't go to Northwestern (for example) just because they have money to throw at you. He can win it here. With basketball you don't need to leave to win, especially with this homecourt This is true. SDSU and Gonzaga have both almost d...

He's quite small for a MLB He's nearly as big as Tafisi and as long as he moves more fluidly laterally, he'll be fine. He does play violently and decisively like Tafisi, but seems better laterally. You don’t lead the nation in solo tackles without having great instincts as well. I’d hate to move hi...

He played middle linebacker at Buffalo. Why wouldn’t he play that spot at USU? Will he not replace Tafisi? I see everyone saying he’ll play weak side LB. Perhaps he does if Alford shifts to middle but Alford wasn’t middle to start last season and Dolac has a lot more experience and production in tha...

Dolac was injured in game 4 this year and took a redshirt. He was a freshman that played all 7 games for Buffalo in 2020. Interesting topic. Would be hard to depart with the Aggies but if forced to choose a different nickname, maybe the Blue Herons, which is native to Cache Valley. Keep the current colors and put the Blue Heron in a kilt.
