Sam Lockett is in the portal as well. I thought he did well on special teams.

Re: Way Too Early Depth Chart

In Gary's presser today, he did make it sound like it was to get the best 11 out there. Mentioned that Lefeged and Bond would be the safety combo.

Re: Fall Practice Updates

I hadn't noticed the update. Although Compton is still on so maybe it's a work in progress or a change of heart. Looks like there's 105 guys on there now, so maybe it is the final roster.

Re: Fall Practice Updates

I wonder when they'll update the roster online. Or release a prospectus. 22, do you think we'll have a smaller roster this season between opt outs and some guys moving on with life?

Re: Revisit the depth chart

Give it up. Sheesh. We can all just agree to disagree. Trying to move to another somewhat related topic... I noticed Baron Gajkowski showed up on Utah's roster and Morian Walker is at Nevada. I wonder if either of them get any run at their new schools. I really liked Gajkowski.

I think we need a new roster before knowing what to expect. It sounds like there's a handful of guys that have moved on (like Compton, Mack, etc.).

Re: so how is the qb race shaping up for this season?

It has never felt to me like Coach A has played favorites. I did get that feeling with Wells. I agree, I don't think he was shaken because he likes both Shelley and Peasley.

Re: Gary interview - July 29

We were coming into the season with a Jr with minimal experience and 4 freshman. We really had/have no idea what we have in the QB room. Shelley added more real game experience than all of them combined. I'd like to think it wasn't a position of weakness, but we have no clue.

Re: Gary interview - July 29

He's saying that you bring in any transfer to start, including jc guys. Guys with 1 or 2 years of eligibility aren't brought in to ride the pine and develop. These are guys that are not developmental players. Have they been promised jobs? No. Are they brought in at positions of weakness, understandi...

Looks like we'll need a TE coach with Caputo heading back to coach with Dave Aranda at Baylor. Does DJ Tialavea move into a full-time role?

Small, shifty walk-on. Will give it a shot at running back to help fill the voids there. We're short at the position for spring ball.

I just saw 4 takeaways from Matt Glade's twitter. 1-We're officially going back to the 3 man front. 2-We'll slow the pace on offense. 3-Special teams will be split up. 4-QB race is wide open.

There's a new rule that says if you get hurt early in your redshirt freshman campaign, you automatically get a medical redshirt. Koch will also be a freshman again next year.

I would think with all the talk of the rise of Jordan Love, we would have it fresh on our minds how little stars matter or at least how difficult it is to project a high school kid's career. We can be outraged we lost one of our highest rated recruits. But I think we should save that emotion for aft...
