I too saw him in the stands at the spring game. And he's no longer on the roster on the mobile site.

Not going to play this year. Has a bad back and didn't want it to get worse. Last semester is the Fall, then he wants to go to medical school. He loves the program though and says it will be weird watching from the stands this year.

I'm sorry to hear that. He is a very reliable long snapper. Of the top of my head, I can't think of any bad snaps. That's an odd, niche position. So, any word on who is going to be long snapping this year?

Unless someone else is brought in that takes the job once camp starts in August this is who should be the long snapper next season.

There's a Mark Hutchinson on the roster who has been our backup LS. If he's still around, I'm guessing he'll be the starter. http://www.utahstateaggies.com/sports/m ... 74022.html. And I'm also guessing we'll try about five guys from the current roster or walk-ons to come up with a little depth.

And I think you're right, Doc. We haven't had a bad long snap in years, from Needham or his predecessor Pat Scales. Either we have had good coaching or been very lucky.

Edit:not ragging on a player. That's a Damn good record if I'm correct and more so if I'm not.

EoD, I stand corrected. Still, if that's the only bad snap any of us can dig up in three years, that's not bad!

OKAggie, I looked up Mark Hutchinson's highlights on Youtube. I like this kid. He's obviously worked at his craft. It looks like he spent time in high school going to a long snapping camp. Who knew such a beast existed? He seems to be a consistent, accurate snapper, plus, he shows lots of hustle. He's often the first player down field, made a few tackles, downed balls, and recoverd at least one fumble.

Again, this is such a niche position. How many kids did anyone know in high school who said "I want to be a D-1 long snapper"? Looks like we got another good one.

Nate is from down here in St. Greed, he graduated from Pine View. I liked his height at 6'6'. My daughter in Law in Logan went to school with him here at Pine View...Nate was so good to hook up people that needed and extra ticket. Lots of Football players and people moving on. My son says good by to CV this Sunday, and his Wife the next Sunday! How did time go so fast?

I think Bennett actually dropped that one. I don't think it was a bad snap.
