If Harrison had any of DG's bravado, he'd be serviceable. That being said, I'm absolutely in the Myers camp.

Put me in the "anybody but Craig Harrison" camp.

Glad I missed this game.

Depends on how long he is out. if Myers can do it then he'll play if not he won't. This stuff happens.

put me in the Myers camp. Harrison was terrible. I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he was put in without any field time this year, but he has been the same anytime he plays.

Well, with the O'line problems, we may need two or three more qb's.

I just remember the deer in the headlights look Harrison had last year when CK went down. The guy looked terrified. In his defense, he was always meant to be a 3rd string qb who only sees the field during mop up but with CK and AK getting hurt last year and now CK and DG getting hurt this year...

If DG is out more than 2 weeks they prolly burn it. I hope thus isn't what happens. A true Frosh with no running game ...

Myers should have been prepared to play once we knew Keeton was out.

Harrison can get mop up duty, but Myers needed to be ready to play in a game like tonight.

Myers can redshirt next year when we have Garretson, Keeton, and Hobbs. Tonight was the most important game of the year and we pretty much conceded it when we went with Harrison.

Win tonight and we are in the driver's seat to host the conference title game.

There is zero reason not to burn Myers redshirt. As has been mentioned, he will have plenty of time to redshirt next year or the year after.

this is how I feel. This game may have been the most important game for us in conference play. We know Keeton is out and we know what Harrison is, so why is Meyers not ready to go? I hope Garretson is good to go in a week.

Agreed. I am sure Harrison is a good guy but he just can't play at this level.

Darrell had a cast on his throwing hand. No way is he back sooner than 4 wks, most likely it'll be 6 wks. We are still in the running for the division and you never know if CSU will slip up. We need a QB who can make plays, and Harrison is not that QB. These next 5 games are a good chance to see what Myers can do.

To quote John Candy, "We'd have more luck playing pickup sticks with our butt-cheeks..." ...than winning a game with Harrison. Start the prep work with KM. Put the best players on the field.

Best player. You always hear that you have to play the best player. IMO Coach Wells needs to gain an appreciation for this. The minute Chuckie went down, the coaching staff should have put in DG and then started prepping the next best QB to go in. And it doesn't matter if it's a red shirt player or not.
I understand that there was no way of knowing how badly DG was hurt and how long he'd be out, and I understand not wanting to pull a red shirt for a quarter-and-a-half of football, but it's not right to hurt the team to protect one player's red shirt.
Wells was slow to put DG in last year too. I also think he needs to evaluate the best RB and give that guy the rock 20 times a game.
You have a team of players who deserve to have the best at each position playing next to them.

Is there any way the coaches can get another year of eligibility for Harrison?

Completely agree here. We should have had the next best guy ready were DG to go down. That's not CH. For the life of me, I can't figure out why Hunt isn't getting more touches (ball security issues?). And is Hall injured?

The truth is, none of us have any clue if Myers is ready or if he is even better at this point that playing CH. DG struggled his first game off the bench replacing CK and I am happy to give CH the same pass. If it is Myers that is fine but I am not convinced he is ready or is the answer at this point. Somehow we have to find a running game no matter who is taking the snaps.

No offense, but how could you really be convinced at this point? No one has seen him take a single snap at USU in a game.

Maybe it will be a situation like last year's Boise St. game, where they had a short leash on Harrison, then brought in DG. Only this time Myers.

Or you're pulling our chains.
