Yeah really, not the best time of year to bring in recruits.jimbo wrote:The weather will give them something extra to think about.

Do you think Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas State, etc. take the same approach when it's cold and snowy?

Re: Visits this weekend
A few weeks ago Daniel Langi (LB from Bingham) said he'd be visiting this weekend. Not sure if that's still accurate.

Re: Visits this weekend
I was hoping that with our success and the higher profile MWC there would be some 3*, not that there is anything wrong with 2*, that blossom into Vigils,Chuckies, and Sharps.

Explain what you mean by "some". There have been quite a few three star recruits that have visited.bullshot wrote:I was hoping that with our success and the higher profile MWC there would be some 3*, not that there is anything wrong with 2*, that blossom into Vigils,Chuckies, and Sharps.
1- Talent is talent and the coaching staff has proven that they are a better at evaluating talent than the recruiting sites that put stars next to someones name.
2- We're in no place to say that we shouldn't be recruiting a two star athlete anymore.

Re: Visits this weekend
Even if the one guy is a two star he has great size for a safety or corner. If he has speed and is coach-able, that would be a very good get.ratofallaggies wrote:Ace (Charlie) Rogers: 6'2" 210 lbs safety out of Iowa Western. 3 star recruit holding quite a few offers.

Both of these guys play physical, have speed, and play the ball well. Getting either would help fill the vacancy when Suite leaves this year.

It's a basketball weekend too. I bet they'll be at the game Friday.

UAB may not be the best choice for a recruit right now:ratofallaggies wrote:Decoud has picked up another offer from UAB this week.

I think Decoud's recruitment is about to blow up. Hopefully being one of the first on the scene pays off.

Re: Visits this weekend
Plus, we already have Roquemore and Wade. If we land just one of these guys, we'll have a good stable of safeties next year. And I think there's another JC safety coming next year as well.
Scratch the JC safety next year, I don't see him on the list of 2015 commits anymore. His name was Jordan Fogal.

Re: Visits this weekend
Seems we have an eye for talent because the instant we show interest in a kid, everyone else comes looking too.

Well, if they cancel it, that'll be just about the right timing for TDS to take their spot in their conference.LKGates wrote:UAB may not be the best choice for a recruit right now:ratofallaggies wrote:Decoud has picked up another offer from UAB this week.

Re: Visits this weekend
Hunter Sharp and JoJo Natson were both two-star recruits.
My unempirical opinion is that coaches do a better job evaluating talent, so I'm usually more concerned with the number of offers and teams offering a player than I am with stars.
