Re: Aggies in the NFL
So admittedly I am no expert on the NFL free agent market. However, it seems to me that with Wilson's and Bwagz' contracts in Seattle, that this is likely to be Turbins last year in Seattle. If he has a decent year in backup of Lynch, he could be poised to sign as a potential starter with another team when he is a free agent at the end of the year. I would think that age would be the knock on him.

Maybe. But it could also be Lynch's last year. I know they gave him an extension, but they'll cut him if they think he's done and if it helps the bottom line $Empire of Dirt wrote:So admittedly I am no expert on the NFL free agent market. Re: Aggies in the NFL
Not sure age (26) is as important as carries. He only played really 2 years of college ball and had a lot of help and limited carries for a feature back. His NFL reps have been limited. Of course, he had the injury issues but I think you're right in that someone will offer him a lot more as long as Lynch is in Seattle.Empire of Dirt wrote:So admittedly I am no expert on the NFL free agent market. Who knows though? Not sure he's garnered the rep as being a full time back. I think he's more viewed a fundamentally solid guy that can fill in and catches and blocks at a high level as a third down back.

I can't believe this happened the moment I stepped away from my TV for a little while. I thought, yea this is preseason game, I can go do something for a little bit.Dwigt wrote:Murkymerk wrote:Bobby had a sweet pick 6 last night. Turbin hasn't been looking great this preseason. It is a good sign though that he is running with the ones while Marshawn is sitting out.

Utah St. has great player development
It was great watching Turbin and Wagner both making plays for the Seahawks. I was talking to a local Seattle fan after the game last year and he was raving about Wagner's impact on and off the field. Utah St. is doing a lot of things right!

Re: Aggies in the NFL
Vigil had another great game (5 solo tackles). Except, the one downside is that the dude he's competing against - Mike Hull - had an even better one (6 solo tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL).

Re: Aggies in the NFL
The Denver Broncos just trimmed their roster to 75 ahead of tomorrow's deadline. Curtis Marsh #38 survived this round of cuts and is listed third deep at Right Corner Back. As a plus, there is another CB listed behind Marsh at 4 deep. It's good to have another Aggie in Denver.

So far the only former Aggie listed as being cut in today's mandatory round of cuts is Patrick Scales (LS, Utah State) from the Ravens.

Abou Torre just got released by the Colts. Remember him? We've sure had a lot of "NFL talent" at that position.

word is that Fred Jackson - recently released by the Bills - is going to sign with Seattle...ostensibly to be the primary back-up to Lynch. What does that mean for Turbin? My guess is they hang on to him...Jackson's best days are behind him and he may not even cut it. Anyone heard different? I'ma be bummed if Turbo gets cut or otherwise doesn't get to show his stuff...

More than likely Christine Michael will be cut/traded. At least that's what the Seahawks message board seems to think. Guess it's just a wait and see game at this time, though.ShowMeAggie wrote:speaking of which...BustaMcNutt wrote:Abou Torre just got released by the Colts. Remember him? Bobby Wagner ranked 32nd best player in the NFL according to ESPN's #NFLRank

Anyone released yet? From what I can tell, the people I expected to get cut were not. Wright, Larsen & Suite still seem to remain on their teams.

Re: Aggies in the NFL
Suite wasn't in danger for the round of 75. I think he will be cut before the 53-man trimdown but will land on the practice squad. All the others are hanging on for another week of preseason games. This is the week starters don't play much and these guys will have a chance to show what they can do, they all need to make a HUGE impression to stay, though one or two could make practice squad.
A.J. Pataiali'i is now shown as 2nd string DT for the Patriots. If that holds true he will make the team when I thought he woudn't have much of a shot. Big game this weekend.

Re: Aggies in the NFL
Kinda stinks that the Dolphins game coincides with the USU game tonight. Nick won't get to watch his brother in his deciding preseason game. I'm recording it on NFL Network so I can fast forward through and see how Zach played.

Everything I've read is saying Zach will make the team. NFL nation on ESPN. Com said something in his favor is his special teams play.paaron46 wrote:Kinda stinks that the Dolphins game coincides with the USU game tonight. At half Zach has 3 tackles with 2 tackles for loss. Will Davis has two (2) interceptions! Good performances, neither one is on the bubble.
