the worst football experience I have had as an Aggie
Offensive Line couldn't stop a pillow fight, and this is not on Chuckie, he was scrambling for his life the whole game.
No long passes, all short 2-6 yard passes, run up the guts, run the same damn play 3 times in a row to give SUU the ball back in the final 2 minutes....
Our coordinators on offense stink and made no adjustments, Weber needs to be fired(we should have listed to BYU).

This game not being on TV turned out to be a blessing. One, it got over more quickly. Two, the whole nation did not get a chance to see first had just how bad we are.

All part of the strategy. Don't show Utah anything offensively. Mission accomplished.
That has to be the most unfulfilling and relieving win I've seen though.

I second the OP. It was the worst Aggie game I've ever had to suffer through. I've never been so frustratingly mad knowing that every single offensive possession was going to end in a punt.

I seem to remember squeaking one out against Idaho State a few years later.

Does anyone remember the Hawaii blizzard game during Anderson's first year?

Re: the worst football experience I have had as an Aggie
If that was the worst football experience you've had as an Aggie, you haven't been around that long. Worst in the past 6 years? absolutely. But over the years we've had some terrible losses, with terrible weather, and terrible attendance. Maybe the expectations made this one a little more difficult, but I remember thinking at the beginning of a season, "hey, this year we might be decent, like 4 or 5 wins decent." And then at the end of the year we had 1 or 2 wins. Oh how things have changed at USU.

Every loss in the last 45 years was worse than Thursday night and there were boatloads of those.

Thinking of this in wins and losses is pretty simplistic. Thinking of it as the gap between expectations and performance - this has to be near or at the top - no matter how old or young you may be.

If I remember right, the punter was the player of the game in the Hawaii game, and that was after he had a kick blocked and returned for a touchdown.

I was just about to reality orient the fan base to that same cold November day. It was miserable for us Aggies in the nearly empty stadium
However, there are a handful of other FBS schools saying the same thing. We'll be okay. In essence, we squeaked out a win against ISU last year too. They played us tough. We'll be okay.

That said.... Blowing it against BYU and CSU were way worse for me.

Nothing will ever top the heart breaking loss to Byu in 2002. I was only 14 but man I still remember the sick feeling leaving the stadium.

It can get worse, not only did NMSU lose to Florida 61-13 but their AD, boosters and admins bus got robbed during the game. Computers and a whole bunch of other things were taken including car keys. There were a lot of cop cars present also.

Watching pretty much 90% of USU football from about 1980-2010 was as bad or worse on many levels

Sitting through rain and snow in Logan vs Eastern Washington, 1994. D2 school hangs 49 points on us in Logan one year after we win a bowl game. I think Wells and his backup both threw a pick six. Weatherbie looked totally defeated. Really hard to sit through.

Re: the worst football experience I have had as an Aggie
Was this the 34-35 loss after leading by a mile into the half? If so, this game was aweful. There were about 4 or 5 cute BYU coeds that were sitting right behind me. Most of the fans around us harassed them relentlessly in the first half. I'm pretty sure we returned a hail mary by BYU for a TD as the last play of the half. Couldn't even get within field goal range the 2nd half. Those girls returned the favor as well. That was miserable.18usu18 wrote:Nothing will ever top the heart breaking loss to Byu in 2002. Also was at the the game we tied up in the last minute with am Emmit White TD and a 2pt conversion only to suck it up with terrible play calling in OT and lose by a field goal.
The pain is swelling inside just thinking about those games.

In 2007 we lost to San Jose by 3 after leading by 4 in the last minute. Ninth loss in row en route to a 16 game losing streak. We didn't have a single home win that year. But yeah, seeing the Aggies win by 3 must have been unbearable.

Uh, not really. I would take ANY win over ANY loss any day of the week. To say this was the worst Aggie football experience either means you haven't been a fan for very long or have a very, very short memory.gomretat wrote:Thinking of this in wins and losses is pretty simplistic. Agreed. That EWU game was outright horrible coming off the high of '93. Possibly the worst football experience ever for me.NVAggie wrote:Yup, this one was far worseFloridaAggie13 wrote:Sitting through rain and snow in Logan vs Eastern Washington, 1994. However, I'm having a hard time remembering another time I came out of a win but somehow felt like I was mourning a loss. I felt like I needed a shower to somehow wash off the win Thursday night. It was surreal.

Re: the worst football experience I have had as an Aggie
POTM! Which is why this will go down as the worst loss I've witnessed at Romney in my 27 years of following, supplanting the 49-31 loss to Eastern Washington in 1994, in the cold, sloppy rain and which MW was the QB. It was the only other game that I left early, until last Thursday. Idaho State in 2000 would probably be at the top, but I wasn't there for that one.gomretat wrote:Thinking of this in wins and losses is pretty simplistic. I agree that every loss I've witnessed was worse than this win
