the game announcer still sucks.

Re: and on another sour note
Not to pile on, but he's pretty much the laughing stock of the stadium during games. I'm also annoyed that he can't get the whole "And it's another Aggie..." thing down. He needs to be consistent, not drag it out, and allow the fans a chance to say "first down" in unison. He's ruined that whole thing.

Re: and on another sour note
I have yet to complain about him, but this threw me over the top. How hard is it to just say "and it's another aggie..." instead of and it's another aggieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" He is still stretching out aggie when we're trying to say "first down."stwinward wrote:Not to pile on, but he's pretty much the laughing stock of the stadium during games. Re: and on another sour note
It really is almost comical at this point.
How can that dude be so confused on what down it is?
I think he stretches out the first down thing, because he is not ever sure what down it is.

4th and 1 after we picked up a first down was great.

Re: and on another sour note
Aggieeeeeeeeeeeeeee, wrong down or distance or both, wrong names of players, stating that the military honoree received a "medal of condemnation", etc.
Couple that with the band trying to play over a song on the PA, the fire towers only half working, playing "Hell's Bells" when our offense is on the field facing 3rd down, medical helicopters showing up late for their flyover, plus who knows what else I missed. The football team's record parallels the 30 in 30 shtick: hope and optimism before the season starts, expectations tempered throughout the season.
Showcasing the athletic department's efficiency for inaccuracies and mis-steps for all to see.

Just feel for the blind people in attendance, they must be very confused.

Can we not start playing "Sail" right after the students start doing I Believe? Was that song supposed to pump up the team or the crowd?

Out of the multitude of mistakes today, "Chuckie Keeper with the keeper" was by far the best......NVAggie wrote:"Chuckie Keeper with the keeper"

A Bronx cheer went up in my section after he got the end-of-1st quarter score right, except it took him about six seconds to say the numbers.Empire of Dirt wrote:It really is almost comical at this point.

On the other hand, I was interested to hear that a linebacker by the name of "Filiunga" was in on about six tackles this afternoon. I also liked the 3rd-and-five spot after an incomplete first down pass and the "bad snap" that went right into and out of Chuckie's hands.

Yes, Hell's Bells on our own 3rd was also a highlight (lowlight). Missed the Medal of Condemnation. That's pretty good too.stwinward wrote:The "medal of condemnation" was one of the favorites in our section. As was hell's bells on our own 3rd down, as was 3rd and 63 on the scoreboard at one point.

Seriously, game day operations need some work.

If ever acting like an (I can't express myself without swearing) is justified, it would be when surrounded by worse asses. That way, you still look pretty good by comparison.

Re: and on another sour note
+1. I think the announcer is the big booming voice that is easier to blame for all of the issues. Don't get me wrong, he hasn't improved over the season like I was hoping at the beginning, and I feel like all the flack aimed his direction is pretty justified, but isn't there a team of spotters he's supposed to be working with on the field? Isn't their someone in charge of coordinating music, ads, videos, and band breaks? There seems to be a lot of mistakes but only a few of them get hilariously broadcast over the speakers (Count my vote for favorite moment being "Direct your attention to our Patriot of the Game in the North End Zone. He isn't here today.")Mr. Sneelock wrote:Seriously, game day operations need some work.

Re: and on another sour note
I liked when the officials forgot to turn off their mic. "Okay, what do we got, an incomplete?" Reminded me of that statefarm commercial.
I wish they always left them on, it'd be fun to hear them throughout the game.
