No problem! This could be a very solid class! Recent CB commit DJ Williams was named 1st team JC All-American and earned a 3* ranking. RB commit Darwin Thompson was named 2nd team All-American.

Why isn't Chris Nash signing today?

And agreed well done 22.

Yeah, the Nash thing seems strange. He seems to be all Aggies. Is it coming from him or the coaches?

I'm not sure why. He tweeted out a statement about not signing tomorrow (today) and stating that no interviews will be granted. He then deleted the tweet awhile later. Maybe something changed. That is why is listed him as "might not sign".

I'm guessing the staff asked him to grayshirt.

Was Koch recruited as O line or DE?

I'm surprised by this. He seems like an ideal DE. He's long, very athletic, and big. Maybe it's because he feels his best chance of going pro one day is on the OL?

Like you said, long, athletic, big and he has great hands and footwork. Who here can imagine Koch and Alfred Edwards as bookend tackles for at least three years? Is anyone still questioning if Farmer knows what he is doing? Kind makes you all giddy inside doesn't it? :)

You’re bad, you’re nationwide! Great work 22!

This seems like a lot of commits for the early signing period. Is there a reason?

The reason is a change so that HS players who won't enroll until next Fall can now sign in December. Previously they had to wait until February.

Early signings are GREAT for us. Less time for other schools to poach.

Agree. I suspect this is, on paper, USU's best recruiting class ever. Probably top 1/3 of the MWC. Now, hand them over to "Body by Dave" for a couple of years, and the future looks VERY bright.

Go AGGIES!

I like the composition of this class so far: 1/3 from Utah. One mission kid. 3/4 high school kids. This is a good mix, and trajectory for the program. You'll always need a few JC transfers, to fill unexpected holes, but it is much better to be bringing in high school talent to develop in the system. I'm VERY happy with this class.

We aren't really sure. We just know that his offer was pulled. My colleague Isaac didn't really press him about it. My speculation is a grade issue. We have had academic issues with guys from Golden West Community College in the past.

We have had many recruiting classes better than this one. This is a really good class, however. But it is not, in historical context, "even on paper," the best one EVER. I can think of several classes Chuck Mills and Bruce Snyder had that we're pretty good. I can think of one that John L. had that was very good. One that Gary Andersen had that was really good.

The good news is we only a couple of these guys to be ready to play next year. We have, I believe 18 starters out of 22 returning. That's the best news for USU since 2013.

And you didn't even mention John Ralston. He just brought in a bunch of future pros. Tony Knapp had a great class too.

I don't know about Mills or Synder's classes, but Lucifer and Gary never never had a class where so many of the players had other FBS scholarship offers. 11 of the players in this class had FBS offers, 6 of them had P5 offers.

The East kids will sign in February. The three of them just wanted to come on their official visit together. The same can be said for Deven Thompkins. He was on his way here two weeks ago but got hung up in Atlanta by bad weather.

We don't really know how good the recruiting class is until a few years down the road. Chuck Shelton's 1991 recruiting class consisted of a group of very good wide receivers - ironic for "ground Chuck" - and eventually led to the 1993 bowl game for example.

I like what I see so far and am really pleased to see Wells specifically address the weaknesses...he's growing as a head coach.

So that’s four commits. I think Aggies22 said we have 5 spots open. Is that correct? I lose track, do we know who the 5th commit is/will be?

Two of the East players are sign and send. I wouldn't think they would be included in the five remaining spots.
