KSL claiming Saturday is a sellout

Can anyone else provide confirmation of a sellout crowd for Saturday's game? The website shows plenty of seats still available. Kyle could be promoting it.

Kyle McDonald-

"The Aggies will be playing in front of a sellout crowd at Maverik Stadium Saturday night as the revenge factor is in play against New Mexico State."

Is Kyle going to be cheering for the Red Aggies? That would make him the "sellout".

Probably a mistake on his part. If the game was sold out, USU would have announced it.

It would be fun to have a sellout atmosphere like the Utes game in 2012, those are good memories. Maybe someday soon.

Fingers crossed!

I spoke to a couple of the people in the ticket department yesterday and they both said they were slammed this week with ticketing demand. I did a scan of seats available earlier on Wednesday and there were some seats yet unsold on the east side as well as the west. I didn't examine the bowl area though. Should be a good crowd, and 6 p m isn't too bad... I should be back at the house by 01:00 hrs. Bring your wallets folks...

This brings up a good point. What sort of attendance are y'all expecting to see on Saturday? I'm thinking we should have the Mav at least 80% full. The student section should be excellent.

The game isn't anywhere close to being a sellout. Tons of tickets still for sale. There is a section in the end zone that is almost completely available.

I want us to sell out every home opener, every BYU, Utah & Boise game and every homecoming game.

With such a small stadium, it's sad we cant.

My guess based on the ticket website would be around 15,000.... there are still some front row and row 1 seats available two days before the game.

I bet we have a decent walk up crowd. The weather should be nice and the student section will be full

Lot's more than that. Closer to 22,000

We won't see anywhere near a sellout for any game this year.

I disagree...if we are sitting at only one loss by the time we get to NM and SJSU there might be enough excitement going to get people out to those games.

UNLV is our Homecoming Game, the AG Day BBQ is the day of the Zoomie Game. Make me hungry watching the Video.

KSL was definitely wrong. I've heard that the ticket office is slammed this week, but that includes gameday prep, new staff, etc., and not as much ticket sales as "slammed" would suggest. Nowhere close to a sellout. Really disappointing for the home opener in what could be a special season.

I think we are close to a sellout and believe me buddy we need you and all your friends at the game. If there is anyway to get to the game be there.

Walk up, run up, crawl up I don’t care just get there. This is the best team I have seen for awhile.

Go Aggies!

Why do you think this? USU has a ticket website where you can literally see available tickets. I'd be shocked if even half of the stadium is sold at this point. Here are some screenshots of just a few sections of the stadium. The grayed out section on the east side is the student section so those areas aren't really sold out.

Yikes, that's a ton of available tickets! I'll be there with 7-9 others, but I'm going to see if I can convince a few more to go to the game with me. Unless 8-10k walk-ups appear at the ticket window Saturday afternoon, there's no way we will sell out!

This is the same reporter who a couple days prior to the Michigan State wrote an article about spots up for grabs and mentioned that Tipa and Logan Lee were battling for the olb spot. He also had several other spots that were head scratchers. Obviously had not done much homework.

I was told we were close to a sell out. I can see that may have been a optimistic view but I am hopeful.

BTW the UofU was giving tickets away for the first 3 games of Urbans stay. I know because they gave me 30 tickets at one of my stores. Asked me to find a bunch of homeless people who would like to see a game. They also gave away free pizza after the concert following the game.

I don't know how close to a sellout this will be, but it's kind of nice to benefit from the misinformation from KSL rather than unduly penalized by it.

Well noted cdaAg... I did a scan of seats remaining in the sections that weren't blocked for viewing on the net. I then called a non published number at the USU ticket office and asked a few questions. The staff is anticipating robust game day walk up ticket sales.

I believe Provo Aggie was fairly accurate with his comments although there were under 300 seats remaining in the areas that weren't blocked for my viewing. I wonder if several agencies have purchased blocks of tickets for resale???? Opinions????

Well if the ticket office staff is anticipating robust game day walk up ticket sales, it sounds like a sellout is guaranteed. Our ticket office staff really knows how to get butts in the seats, as hoping for a good walk up crowd sounds like a solid plan. It is amazing that no one else has thought of a strategy this good and is sure to create successful results.

Unless people dont bother walking up thinking it is sold out

The only thing that is close to being sold out are the Hurd passes. Saw something on twitter that there were only a few left.

I hope the ticket office was slammed this week because at least that would give them an excuse why they still haven't answered my email from 5 days ago...still haven’t got my parking pass yet. I’m sure they won’t pick up the phone tomorrow either. I picked email delivery of tickets which never came. I know I can email them to myself using the transfer feature online, but no sign of my parking pass.

I don't know if you "miswrote" that, but given a 6 p.m. kick-off, if you're not home by 10:30-11 p.m. there is something drastically wrong.
