They couldn't ignore us with an 8-1 record and so many blow out wins. Foot in the door, man. We just need to take care of business and get a couple of breaks.
Go AGGIES!

Guessing you saw the ranking on a site predicting the top 25?buckfever wrote:Aggies ranked 25th in what I see as a rigged
CFP ranking. Well. It’s a start. Go aggies
Because the Aggies are not ranked in the current CFP.

Re: Aggies break into to 25 CFP
I don't get how a team can be ranked #14 in the AP and not even crack the top 25....very frustrating! There are a lot of 3 loss teams that are ranked too. But, it will give us something to prove.

Re: Aggies break into to 25 CFP
This committee is so hell bent on keeping g5 teams out of the polls. The fact that each p5 conf is represented and none of the g5 conferences are represented on the committee is very telling in these rankings. Sucks that these are the rankings that actually matter.

Re: Aggies break into to 25 CFP
There are NINE 3-loss teams in this latest poll. This comittee is so crooked it hurts. There are 3 SEC teams ahead of the PAC 12's best team (WAZZOU) who is barely a 1-loss team.
There are a total of SEVEN SEC teams in this poll. That is half of the god damn conference. Three of those teams have 3 losses. If you can't see the East Coast / P5 / SEC bias here, you are what is wrong with college football.

Not only is USU not ranked, Fresno didn't advance despite several teams above them losing.

The announcement was very late tonight. They have a show on ESPN and they had to wait about 20 minutes for a basketball game to end.

Re: Aggies break into to 25 CFP
I’m not disagreeing that there is bias but to suggest that Wazzou is better than any of the 3 SEC teams ahead of them is ludicrous. I wish we were ranked but I also think that every team in the top 25 would be 8-1 or 9-0 with the schedule we’ve played. We just haven’t had the opportunity for quality wins. Stay hopeful though, Auburn will lose this week, possibly giving us a chance to slide in.Naked Bull Rider wrote: ↑November 6th, 2018, 8:10 pmThere are NINE 3-loss teams in this latest poll. When we have a football playoff with 3 SEC teams and Clemson, people still won't see the bias.Naked Bull Rider wrote: ↑November 6th, 2018, 8:10 pmThere are NINE 3-loss teams in this latest poll. I stopped worrying about this world many years ago. I’m tired of worrying about something so absurd and rigged. No thank you. I just love seeing my team win.

Re: Aggies break into to 25 CFP
The Massey combined poll has a poll ranking us as low as #67 and as high as #7. So it’s not difficult for two polls to have a difference of more than 11. The Aggies still control their own destiny for the CCG and the rest will take care of itself.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑November 6th, 2018, 7:50 pmI don't get how a team can be ranked #14 in the AP and not even crack the top 25....very frustrating! Re: Aggies DON'T break into to 25 CFP
I disagree completely and am fine with being what you call wrong. I’m of the opinion that those 3 teams would smack Washington St. I don’t care what their record is, I don’t think teams should be rewarded for playing a soft schedule. I believe whole heartedly in the eye test, and based off the eye test- those teams would mop the floors with any team in the west.Naked Bull Rider wrote:There are NINE 3-loss teams in this latest poll. Doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy watching the Aggies win. I don’t care whether or not we’re ranked. I think, based off the eye test, we’re much better than UCF. That being said, I don’t think either team is one of the best 20 teams in the country.

Re: Aggies DON'T break into to 25 CFP
I don’t watch P5 games. I haven’t watched an entire playoff game and have missed the championship farce for the last 3-4 years. I’m to the point where the Aggies are my last thread of sports watching.

Re: Aggies DON'T break into to 25 CFP
I'm getting to the point where I purposely dont watch any p5 games. I'll watch MWC games when I can but really I only care about the Aggies.
Only a matter of time before the bottom falls out on these giant p5 network contracts.

Re: Aggies DON'T break into to 25 CFP
That’s what I do. I refuse to support the P5 games. They are ruining college sports because of monopoly and money. I won’t watch the national championship game or the semi finals for the same reason. Of course I’ll see the highlights and know who won, but that’s it

Re: Aggies DON'T break into to 25 CFP
Look at their schedules. Their SOS and credibility are inflated by wins over a terrible Florida State. Much like Fresno is benefiting from a win over a UCLA that is in shambles.BleedAggieBlue0 wrote: ↑November 6th, 2018, 10:19 pmTake a step back and think about what the word “fact” means.Naked Bull Rider wrote:Utah State is better than Syracuse, NC State, and Boston College. I'm at the point right now where I don't want to be ranked until we play our conference championship game. I want our team to play pissed off every week. I think it will give them the chip on their shoulder we need to keep dominating opponents.

Re: Aggies DON'T break into to 25 CFP
I appreciate CBS Sports write-up on over/under rated teams in the rankings:
Utah State -- Underrated
You know who would have been fine in the 24 or 25 spot that wouldn't have been a problem? Utah State. Is it a team that deserves a top 10 or top 15 spot? No, of course not. But what Utah State is is an 8-1 team that's only loss was a seven-point loss on the road against No. 18 Michigan State. Now, the Aggies have only beaten one team with a winning record -- Hawaii -- so they don't have the strength of schedule to warrant being ranked much higher, but even if they haven't played the most challenging schedule, they've annihilated everyone in their path. Utah State's eight wins have come by an average of 32.9 points per game.
Utah State's only crime is that it's a Group of Five school, and if we start putting too many Group of Five schools in the CFP Rankings (there are two, compared to four in both the AP and Coaches Polls) then we might run the risk of giving teams like UCF too much credibility and leverage when it comes to how we rank them.
And we can't have that, can we?

Re: Aggies DON'T break into to 25 CFP
Conversation in CFP committee meeting:
Committee member A: “What about ranking Utah State?”
Committee member B: “Didn’t they lose to Arizona last weekend?”
Committee member A: “That was Utah, they lost to Arizona State.”
Committee member C: “Well why should this “Utah State” be ranked?”
Committee member A: “They are 8-1, with their only loss coming on the road against 18 ranked Michigan State by 7 points.”
Committee member D: “Wow, that’s pretty good. What conference are they in?”
Committee member A “The Mountain West.”
Committee member E: “Well that’s why they’re not ranked, we can’t have a one loss Mountain West team in the rankings.”
Committee member A: “We have Fresno State”
Committee member F: “Isn’t Fresno in the PAC 12?”
Committee member A: “No, they’re in the Mountain West.”
Committee member G: “Well why are they ranked?”
Committee member A: “They beat a PAC 12 team.”
Committee members B-G: “Oh, that’s impressive.”
Committee member A: “Plus that gives us 3 teams west of Texas, therefore nobody can claim we have an Eastern bias.”
Committee members B-G: “We aren’t biased, we just don’t like to watch football after 1:00 AM.”
Committee member A: “Right. Anyway, back to Utah State. Should we put them in the top 25?”
Committee members B-G: “No, the Utes don’t deserve to be ranked. End of discussion.”
