I would assume if Jay Hill is going to be interviewed it will be Saturday since Weber plays on Friday night.

My interview went about 3 hours. We had a long thorough discussion about my DC experience as a PeeWee football coach in the Ute Conference. We discussed how my team went to the championship game. How I motivated my players and what schemes I used.

Yost was a great coordinator. And I know look little to nothing about him- but I’d be interested to know if he has the head coach personality.

Not that it means anything but on TV he doesn’t seem to have “the look”.

For those that know, is he vocal? Does he have head coach personality?

Certainly the possibility of offensive fire power.

Lastly, would any of the players feel he abandoned the team?

I’ve spent the last three years as a district president and I’m still waiting on my interview. What gives?!?!

I have heard rumors (only) that Yost is NOT interested in being a HC. Remember, he already "retired" from one job because of stress. I think there's a reason he has the "surfer look" and I'm being honest here. I think he's no-drama Yost, the laid back surfer dude. Not really HC material. NOT to say he wouldn't make a good HC though.

I ask myself this question about Maile too... and then I ask myself this question - what is the HC personality? Kyle Whittingham? Lavell Edwards? Pete Carroll? Bronco Mendenhall? These four coaches have all been successful at the HC position and all have very different personalities. What's the common element?

I don't know the answer. I think a lot of personalities can be a HC, but there is some sense of authority/charisma (authorisma?) that needs to be there.

Not necessarily. Brent got the job because Chico didn't want to take a pay cut.

Well I have seen a young and exciting coach in Jay Hill who knows the Urban Meyer way through coaching at Utah like Gary Anderson did. I think the university should give me the search fee I will be more than happy to take $25000.00 instead of $75000.00 also I will donate $5000.00 back to the Aggies just hire hill and keep the momentum going. Twenty thousand for that advice seems cheap to me. It took me about twenty seconds to make that recommendation not sure what the problem is with Hartwell????

My interview went well over four hours. As a current HOA president I have the leadership experience. And as a former DC of a girls intramural flag football team in 1990 at USU, I'm considered an "inside" hire with a defense first mindset. My flag football teams played straight man coverage with aggressive blitzing. You are going to love it!! Plus, I interviewed coach Shelton a few times so my resume is solid. I start tomorrow. I'm sure of it.

Man, would you be interested in moving to Cali to be our HOA president? Our HOA is so bad, they couldn't even get their stuff together to vote on appropriating funds for our annual X-mass tree lighting and entrance decorations. Pathetic. :joking:

Sure. As you are probably aware, HOA presidents are mercenaries, always looking for that next stepping stone on our career path upwards. If I go, I take my secretary and treasurer with me. Though, my treasurer is in consideration for a presidency position at a competing community with more perks - they have a pool and a water slide. Let me know and my agent will contact your people.
