Re: Gary's assistants?
Just please no Baldwin or Mcgiven. There is a reason they both work for two of the worst programs in the country. Gary needs to distance himself from his assistant regulars.
Baldwin = hell no
Mcgiven = hell no
Clune = no
Woods = yes please
Collins = maybe
Maile = absolutely

I really hope Gary will find a way to keep Stacy Collins on the staff. He's been a helluva linebacker recruiter for us.

So we're going to get Sanford AND son? That truly would be amazing.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑December 7th, 2018, 9:43 pmThe more I think about this the more I think we're going to see Mike Sanford Jr. as the OC and Mike Sanford Sr. come along for some sort of consulting role.

Re: Gary's assistants?
Stacy Collins hasnt' been recruiting LB's specifically, he's been recruiting an area. The Pacific Northwest. This year alone he is responsible for the verbal commitments of Jaymason Willingham, Simon Thompson, Ashton Adams, Aric Davison and preferred walk-ons Jack Drews and Nehemiah Shird. It is imperative that we keep Stacy Collins. Stacy could coach Special Teams and then Gary could hire Bojay.AggiesForever wrote: ↑December 8th, 2018, 11:07 pmI really hope Gary will find a way to keep Stacy Collins on the staff. Re: Gary's assistants?
I just assumed he was doing well in FL&Tx, guess not. I still think those 2 position groups need to be good recruiters. They usually are at most schools.aggies22 wrote: ↑December 9th, 2018, 9:12 amWhy? Any Idea who we bring on as coaches I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Re: Gary's assistants?
Yes. He was what's come out of the Florida Pipeline the last few years? It's cool if he and Shaver teamed up to land some dudes 5 years ago but c'mon, you've got to land more than one kid a year to justify going out there. Are there some good ones? Absolutely, but not nearly enough production to be called an ace recruiter. I've been told VERY recently Utah State has zero recruiting presence in Florida.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑December 9th, 2018, 9:15 amReally? Wasn't Florida Bouknights area? Re: Gary's assistants?
It seems as though we recruited FL better when GA and Shaver were here. Hopefully we'll see an increased presence.

Re: Gary's assistants?
Here's my wild unfounded stab at a possible coaching staff.
1. OC/QBs - Mike Sanford Jr.
2. RBs - Quinton Ganter (recruit Northern California)
3. WRs - Chuckie Keeton (recruit Houston Texas)
4. TEs - Al Pupunu
5. OL - TJ Woods (recruit California)
6. DC - Justin Ena (recruit California)
7. DL - Frank Maile (recruit Hawaii, Utah)
8. LBs - Bojay Filimoeatu (recruit Utah, Southern California)
9. DBs - Joe Dale (recruit Dallas)
10. STs - Stacy Collins (recruit Pacific Northwest)

Re: Gary's assistants?
Great list 22, what makes Justin Ena ready for a DC position? I've only heard a little info about him on this board. In your opinion what makes him a better choice than Frank?aggies22 wrote: ↑December 9th, 2018, 10:14 amHere's my wild unfounded stab at a possible coaching staff.

Re: Gary's assistants?
Looks like a pretty good group if you ask me.
Gary has contacts in FL I don't know how important FL is to the long term success of the program. If we can get 1 or 2 guys a yr I would think that's good enough.

Re: Gary's assistants?
What are Chris Cooley and Kevin Curtis up to these days? Keep waiting for their names to be hoisted up on a building someday. Any other Players from the past that could make the staff / build the culture?
