AAC have been destroyed in bowl season so far

Post by SLB » December 29th, 2018, 11:11 am

AAC so far in bowl season
Houston lost to Army 14-70
Temple lost to Duke 27-56
South Florida lost to Marshall 20-38
Memphis lost Wake Forest 34-37
Tulane has the only win against Sun Belt Louisana 41-24
UCF and Cinn have yet to play, but at this point it looks like both UCF and Cinn will probably lose.

Those are Pac12 style numbers.

Houston a mighty P6 league team 14
Army a humble G4. 70

Oh the horror. This cannot happen to the 6th power conference

I’ve been saying this entire season that the aac is benefiting from being on the east coast and we’re way overrated. The top 3 from the mwc were on par with UCF and could have beaten the rest of the conference.

Side note, AAC schools are top-heavy with $$$. More than the MWC.

MWC finished 3-2 with another probable win from
Boise taken off the table as a result of the cancellation. All in all not a bad year for the conference.

UCF is not overrated. They crushed Pitt which was the same likely even healthier Pitt that Clemson played in the ACC championship game.

UCF was fairly rated. They could have won the PAC12/ (depending on which teams schedule they play in this hypothetical).

I agree that overall the MWC is as good if not better than the AAC, but it’s not like the MWC showed well in bowls. We are 3-2 as a conference. SDSU was embarrassing. Hawaii embarrassing. And Nevada barely squeaked by a conference USA team. Yes we won but we played North Texas. We didn’t play Wake Forest like Memphis did.

UCF might lose tonight. But LSU is a great team and UCF losing to LSU doesn’t say anything about anyone else. UCF won their games- the MWC teams didn’t. And it’s not like we played a very difficult schedule.

Either way I’m happy for Heupel.

We would have beaten both Wake Forest and Memphis, in my view.

Well, we'll have a chance to prove half of that next season.

Wake will be really good next year. They will be hard to beat.

All I’m saying is it’s really easy to look at someone else and say “I could do that” it’s harder to actually do. UCF went undefeated because UCF is a good football team.

It’s not like we beat our middle of the road P5 opponent this year. And even if USU could beat those teams, it’s not like half of the MWC bowl eligible teams could. It’s a disgrace that SDSU got skunked by Ohio.
