Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
My suspicion would be closer to home. But if he just liked the thought of living in Vegas then he isn't the type of player that will develop into a standout at this level.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑December 19th, 2018, 5:00 amHow did UNLV get this guy https://247sports.com/player/victor-viramontes-81179/

Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
The only real surprise right now is how well UNLV is doing. The good news about our ranking is as Rivals and ESPN finally start to rank our players, our 247 composite score keeps going up.bazinga22 wrote: ↑December 19th, 2018, 2:20 amhttps://247sports.com/Season/2019-Footb ... nce=M-West

2nd place relative ranking in the MWC would be our best finish ever.bazinga22 wrote: ↑December 19th, 2018, 2:20 amhttps://247sports.com/Season/2019-Footb ... nce=M-West

If we can finish in the top 4 in the MW consistently in recruiting then we are in good hands!

Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
Surprised to see SDSU ranked so low. Hawaii has to be a tough place to recruit to considering travel costs for trips home and visits by the family.bazinga22 wrote: ↑December 19th, 2018, 2:20 amhttps://247sports.com/Season/2019-Footb ... nce=M-West

SJSU recruits a lot of kids from our area, good to see them climbing a bit. I knew a few people who have kids playing FB for SJSU.

Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
Looks like we dropped to #3 in the MWC, but I'm glad to see we jumped from 109 last year to 89 in the nation this year.
Utah's recruiting class ranks #70 while BYU ranks #72. I'm hoping USU continues to excel and climb in the rankings of its recruits.
Also of note, Boise's #54 places them at the highest rank among G5s. Currently ranked ahead of UCLA, Texas Tech, Oregon State, and Utah.
Something that's frustrating to see is among the top 25 ranked Utah High School athletes who picked a school in Utah, I count only one USU commit vs. 5 Utah commits and 6 BYU commits. WTH? I understand wanting to play for a P5 team, but what's the BYU draw? https://247sports.com/Season/2019-Footb ... l&State=UT

It's not there is a draw. It's that Matt didn't recruit Utah very hard.travelingagg wrote: ↑December 19th, 2018, 11:27 amLooks like we dropped to #3 in the MWC, but I'm glad to see we jumped from 109 last year to 89 in the nation this year.

Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
Part of the draw could be the opportunity to play sooner since they suck so bad.travelingagg wrote: ↑December 19th, 2018, 11:27 amLooks like we dropped to #3 in the MWC, but I'm glad to see we jumped from 109 last year to 89 in the nation this year.

Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
If Hawaii kept kids on their islands, they'd be amazing. Don't even really need main landers.ViAggie wrote: ↑December 19th, 2018, 11:23 amSurprised to see SDSU ranked so low. Problem is, they can't keep any of their kids on their islands.

Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
Well, we needed for Anderson, Maille, et all to keep this class together and they have.
Best class we may have ever had.
That's a huge win!
Now we have something to build on.
I think Anderson will be able to win in Utah, improve in Texas and Florida and stay strong in California.
Anderson > Wells recruiting IMHO.
Future is looking good!

Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
Give Gary and the new staff another couple months to finish off this class for the Feb signing period. I bet they come up with a few impact players yet. How many a schollies do we have left to fill?

Yes, as I've said in another thread, we should have 8 left.

Re: Updated 2019 MWC recruiting rankings
It's Andersen, not Anderson and if we give Maile and him credit for holding together one of the best recruiting classes ever, how is Andersen better than Wells at recruiting? These are Wells' kids.Sl7vk wrote:Well, we needed for Anderson, Maille, et all to keep this class together and they have.

If we can have another great year next year then I think it becomes a lot easier to recruit Logan. I look to see Andersen start pulling in some huge recruits within the state like he did with Tyler Larsen.
