Wowza. San Jose State's new locker room is FIRE. :bananafire: :bananafire: :bananafire:

This is the first time anyone has ever been jealous of anything athletics facilities related from SJSU.

I’d rather have a good team than a good locker room.

I expect both, but right now it seems each school has just one of each... although I’m not convinced it really puts ours to shame

I was in the Aggie locker room about 5 months ago. I like the look of it better. More wood finished looking but still very nice.

That locker room kind of reminds me of Flynn's Retrocade - except Flynn's Retrocade is filled with happy people.

Really does look like a 1980’s arcade like the one that used to be in the CV mall (don’t remember the name). Thought the same thing the moment I saw it. A bunch of pac-man and asteroids machines...

Don’t think it’s that great. Actually like what I’ve seen of ours better.

I honestly don't like it, but I'm a 34-year old Aggie. I also don't think that the flooring goes with the rest of the room. It looks like modern flooring was slapped together with a 1980's arcade room.

When are they looking to do the locker room expansion? I've heard this is something that GA wants done.

I know this is going to get done, but not sure when. I believe it is a top priority though; just need some funding!

Personally I would prefer to not have the "nicest" locker room. Obviously I DO want a locker room that is good enough.

But I still want there to be a bit of grunge. Something to keep players hungry. I want it to be something that will get them in the mood to go out and hit. Not to stay in and play foosball or to play Fortnite on the Gamecast (rumor has it a really nice locker room ended up having a negative effect on the Redskins the past few years)

Things have changed from when the locker room was first built. The original thinking was it was a place to change your
clothes. shower and go home. They wanted the athletes to be on campus during their free time , participating in student activities, and socializing with other students. Now the trend is to provide everything that an athlete needs in a locker room and most of their time can be spent there, I have seen, barbershops, game rooms, theatre rooms as well totally connected lockers. It will be interesting in another 10 years to see where locker rooms end up. Maybe the lockers will fold down into a bed for a quick nap. :)

You use your advantages. Alabama has 5*
Athletes.

If we don’t play with a big (I can't express myself without swearing) chip on our shoulder we might as well bring back Guy.

It should be a nice locker room. But some locker rooms are over the top. We can build a lounge. But the locker room should reflect grit.

All I'm saying is that design does make an impact on mentality. We don't need Alabama's locker room. When recruits step in, they should have the understanding that they are football players. It should help them prepare for games and practice. Can it include video games? Sure, but there should be a reason that makes someone a better football player.

Basically, I don't buy into the "Oregon" way of thinking of we need to constantly be updating our facilities and have new jerseys for every game.

There is too much "Keeping up with the Joneses" and I just think we should be smarter and invest in the things that will most directly benefit the program. I don't think a bunch more TVs in the locker room does that. Keep first things first.

While things like video games, tv's, couches don't have a direct impact on the game, they do build team chemistry. By spending more time hanging out with teammates. I have been on a lot of different teams over the years and the best teams were always the ones that spent time together outside of football. Brotherhood truly does mean everything to a team, and this is away for the team to stay connected and engaged with each other.

You must stay up with the Joneses in your own conference. Locker rooms also are used for recruiting.

The upgrade on the practice fields is on hold, shortage of funds as always.

When we went to take pictures at Auburn we were allowed into their locker room. Actually, they have a way cool tradition there where they open one of the tunnels (that leads directly from outside the stadium to the south endzone) and let anyone come in. It then funnels to the locker room where all the players game day equipment is set up on chairs in front of the lockers. It looks really classy. When they leave the locker room they are then greeted by former players (I don't know if these are guys who just show up or if they are asked to come back) and can chat with them. It is a cool tradition where people can get right next to the field and take pics and such. The locker room was super nice as well. The 2 Heisman trophies sitting in glass cases is a nice finishing touch.

Their is two parts of the wish list for the lockers rooms. The first part will begin next week, They will start taking out the
old wood lockers that were upgraded last summer and then install new ones in mid July so they are ready for Fall Camp.
From the description I was given they may look similiar to what was shown at San Jose. They got the money for the lockers
that was originally set aside to put artificial turf down on one of the practice fields and replace the other field with a natural
grass turf which is built on a sand base with a sub drainage system so can be used in rainy weather.

The second part is an addition to the locker room. I know several ideas have been thrown about . Expansion to the east is
a possibility, Enclosing the patio on the west has been talked and even adding more space on the north end by building
up on the second floor. I believe they are looking for donor to fund the addition before they get serious with renderings and would guess this is several years away unless someone gives them a big check sooner
