NAFR: SDSU announces $250M contract for new stadium
Article here
Surprising to me, even though their existing stadium situation is pretty bad, that the city and university are committing a quarter billion for this. Interesting that the seating will be only 35,000 -- a solid MWC capacity, but I thought they had more grandiose ambitions (whether realistic of not -- who knows what comes out of the current state of disarray in the Pac-12.)

Nobody here knows anything.

I remember reading about this project earlier. It’s supposed to be easily expandable to something like 60k if SD can ever lure another NFL team (or, presumable, if SDSU can ever draw that kind of crowd).

The plan/goal was always to have/go back to a 35K stadium. The mission valley property will also be the home of the SDSU East Campus expansion.

All we did was redo our west side boxes (along with some other relatively minor changes) and it ran us $36 million. A full stadium for $250MM isn't much in today's stadium economy, especially considering the cost of building in Southern California per square foot will run them much more than somewhere like Utah.OKAggie wrote: ↑March 9th, 2019, 9:04 amArticle here

Aren’t there a lot of people trying to get an expansion MLS team in San Diego? Is this stadium part of that?
35K is plenty big for that, but definitely not for another NFL team
Will respond whenever you ask what the band is doing
