If what I see on TV and in the movies, and read on the internet about prison culture is true (and it MUST be true), as a rapist ex-football player, he can expect some "special attention" at his new home.

I agree. The sadder thing is scum like Harvey Wienstein doing the same thing basically, and having the money and support to get away scott free. It's like the laws are not meant for the rich and famous.

This borderlines on Sandbox material, but from my untrained eye I would say the cultural tide has shifted. A generation ago Green would have gotten away with it as well as the prevailing belief was the woman knew what to expect when she was in his apartment, on his couch, during an agreed-to-date with a popular athlete. Fortunately, we as a society don't put up with this anymore and icons and societal elites such as Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein are getting what they deserve.

Idiot should have taken the deal that was surely offered instead of forcing this to trial. Nobody was going to buy #consent as a defense.

Not only that, but continuing to plead his innocence in his sentencing hearing likely bought him a much longer sentence.

I wonder if he got some bad legal advice?

The deal may not have been made public cause of it being declined, but there's a good chance a deal of pleading guilty to some of the charges and/or some of them reduced in return for others dropped was offered. Given the nature of it being hard for the girls to testify, there is all the more reason for them to offer a deal to get the girls out of having to go.

Green hadn’t made it in the NFL yet and couldn’t pay what Jussie paid. He also didn’t have the high political figures as friends.
