Riley Nelson at BYU
Brad Rock Deseret News has an article about Nelson who will be football analyst for BYU this season. Interesting quote "He says the decision to transfer from USU to BYU was “the best of my life, related to sports.” That's an interesting statement. Wonder what dynamic made a Logan boy develop that attitude.

Re: Riley Nelson at BYU
Before being too harsh on Riley, remember that he was at USU during the low point of the Brent Guy years.tinplater wrote: ↑May 29th, 2019, 7:24 amBrad Rock Deseret News has an article about Nelson who will be football analyst for BYU this season. I’ll bet guys like Quinn Ficklin would tell you the exact opposite. It’s all about personal situation.

The Brent Guy years were the low point of Aggie football, imo. I wasn't around for the Chris Pella years, but I bet the Brent Guy years were worse than the Chris Pella years.

I'm okay with that. Sending Riley to BYU was one of the best things we ever did for USU. Bronco couldn't get over the grittiness of Mr. Nelson. He made a lot of people mad at BYU. I'm also sure BYU helped him reach his goal of getting into medical school. I bet he is close to graduating now.

He is the football analyst for BYU, do you expect him to say leaving USU was a bad decision ?

Re: Riley Nelson at BYU
Can't say I blame Nelson for transferring one iota. USU football was at the lowest point it has ever been at that time. Bad facilities, poor fan support, and zero semblance of a winning culture. I despise BYU, but by all objective standards it was a way better program at that time than USU.

He did what he did, that can't be changed. I'll be annoyed with him forever for coming in late and winning that game.
Live and let live, but I of course hope his team goes down in flames to eternal irrelevancy.

Borel >/= Riley
.5 Keeton > Riley
Nelson was certainly a shiny object but in the end today USU is a solidly better program than BYU. Maybe if Riley never leaves we over invest in him as QB1 and we are not where we are today.

This whole post should have stopped here. What else would he say when he just got a JOB for that school! Not a shocker. People on TV say cliche things that they think people want to hear.
