This may be a tangent, but I never really saw Keeton and Love as coming from the same mold. Keeton was more of a dynamic mobile QB that could be dangerous after getting out of the pocket due to his ability to either tuck it and run or make great passes on the run. Love has been a phenomenal pocket passer, often stepping up in the pocket and trusting his OL to protect him, avoiding the sack masterfully.

Competition refines capability. With as many scholarships as D1 football is given, there's no reason to not stack teams with competition (especially at the most important position). Having more quality QBs will benefit the team much more than not having enough.
