10VE For Heisman Campaign - Awesome
I like the marketing push that they're going to apparently put behind Jordan Love for Heisman. It's good creative #10VE is a good hashtag, I like everything about it. Good stuff.

I just wish the heisman hype were coming from somewhere else than ourselves. This type of thing always seems to jinx something.

Re: 10VE For Heisman Campaign - Awesome
You guys took the words right out of my mouth. The jinx is on. It's like the Madden curse. Being a G5 school means we'll never have a Heisman trophy winner. I think this campaign is more about drawing attention from NFL. Which isn't necessary in my opinion.

Hate the campaign.... I find it embarrassing. It feels like a high school class presidency election. Where do I get my button?

I think the marketing push should be there based on principle alone even though he won't win. Good for USU.
Jinx? Blah. That's (I can't express myself without swearing) thinking.
If the Aggies are good he'll do just fine. I just hope that the coaches work with his head so that he's not feeling overwhelmed.

Re: 10VE For Heisman Campaign - Awesome
When I think of what the athletic department could do to promote the season it starts with the best QB outside the P5 conferences. I support whatever promotion anyone puts out because it’s not like USU is a media darling. I’ve looked at local media, and their predictions for USU are the same as BYU. ESPN predicts barely bowl eligible. Sure, there are some pundits predicting a possible good season, but everyone has Boise State as the top team. After an 11-2 season There I want more predictions of winning the championship game, but there is nothing.

Re: 10VE For Heisman Campaign - Awesome
Fine, you can believe that. What is definitely real is the undue pressure this adds on the kid though. I know Chuckie in interviews has alluded to that aspect of it being hard.AggieFBObsession wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2019, 7:31 amI think the marketing push should be there based on principle alone even though he won't win. Roy... I'm certain that when Jordan will be asked about this he'll simply state that the recognition is because of the team and the respect they deserve and that they haven't won anything yet.
That said, as long as this is his mentality and he's not thinking about what USU media is saying, he'll be fine. Chuckie and Jordan are two entirely different people with quite different minds. I feel a lot more confident in Jordan's ability to keep everything in perspective.

In what world is beating our own chest and saying our QB should considered a Heisman candidate considered "thinking outside the box"?AggieFella wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2019, 9:32 amYeAh DaMn UsU aThLeTiCs FoR tHiNkInG OuTsIdE tHe BoX aNd PrOmOtInG tHe TeAm aNd ItS qB.

Re: 10VE For Heisman Campaign - Awesome
What the hell are we arguing about here? The university using one of its best players of all time to drive publicity and interest in the football program and potentially get more viewership and ticket sales. Seems like a good thing to do. Jordan's goals for himself are much higher than any external source could place on him.

Re: 10VE For Heisman Campaign - Awesome
USU pushed Tony Adams in 1972, and he came in 4th in the Far West Region, but outside the top 10. He, although a senior, showed no ill effects, though he did play the last few games on a gimpy ankle and missed nearly all of the Thanksgiving initial Weebe game. I didn't notice any unexpected headhunting or headcasing going on.
I don't see a downside to pushing Jordan #10VE to get him and the school some notoriety.

I really like this. I don't believe in jinxes. I don't think that this adds any pressure on Jordan to perform. I don't care if anybody thinks that this makes us look bad.

I love Love... love love love love love Love, but Chuckie was a phenomenal player and an even better person. I'm not sure why you think Chuckie didn't keep things in perspective. The dude was on track to be a heisman contender before the injury.AggieFBObsession wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2019, 8:31 amRoy... I liked Chuckie. I'm an Aggie fan. Of course I liked him.
However, I like Jordan's ability to manage a game a make checks at the line much more. That's why I say what I say.

Btw, I completely believe that Jordan will finish his Junior season as the best Aggie QB ever even if he doesn't have the cumulative stats to prove it.

Cool. Do you think this will motivate coaches to leave Love in games to pad his stats, or will we be pulling him at halftime again this year?

If they leave first unit players in if, and when there is a blowout, then this staff is dumb as a door knob, risking injury, player development all should come before padding stat's.
This staff is not that dumb.

Re: 10VE For Heisman Campaign - Awesome
I have no problem pulling guys but we need to let them run the offense and not water it down in the 3rd quarter. If you can't stop the third string QB then you suck and shouldn't be playing college football.

I hope Love is pulled a lot in the 2nd half of games this year. This would mean that the Aggies are winning by a large margin which is fantastic by my standards.
