Figured I would do this again this year.

Re: What games do we win this year?
So I guess some people missed the first box. I was hoping to figure out how many people actually voted to get more accurate data but, oh well.

Re: What games do we win this year?
More people chose us to beat Nevada than Stony Brook? Sounds like someone is trolling.... (I have losses @ LSU, Boise & Fresno)

Re: What games do we win this year?
Thanks, Dwigt for doing this. Really interesting to see what we (collectively) think.
We're nothing if not an optimistic bunch: 83% (so far; 15/18) think we'll beat WF in the opener?! I'm shocked it's that high. (Though there is one Debby Downer that picked us to lose to Stony Brook?!)
For the record, this is how I picked:
Wake - L
Stony Brook - W
SDSU - L
CSU - W
LSU - L
UNR - W
AF - W
BYU - L
FSU - L
WYO - W
BSU - W
UNM - W
7-5 isn't real flashy, but with no losses to division rivals, we win the division title and play for the MWC Championship against SDSU, get our revenge on them for a regular season loss and finally win the MWC title! Unfortunately, with a 7-5 record, we're not considered for any NY6 bowls. But the LV Bowl against in-state rival Utah (who stumbles in their best chance EVER for a Rose Bowl bid) is a nice consolation prize. And, just like the last time they played us, GA's defense holds on through the final moments for a close win...9-5 season , MWC and LV Bowl Champs!! Not too shabby...

I was going to say just use the Stony Brook number, it should be the same as the number of voters....but apparently 1 person doesn't agree with that.

6-6... which isn’t that bad when you consider what we lost and the schedule strength, which is tougher all across the board. Even our FCS matchup goes from one of the worst in that division in Tenn. Tech to a playoff team from last season. No gimmies anywhere.

Seriously ShowmeAggie
You lose to BYU after they are beat up from playing more P5 schools than they can handle and are looking forward to their last 4 end of season gimmie games, but you defeat UTAH?? As I try to be realistic I think you will go 7-5 a little better than AGGZILLA says but he may be right. Love to Siaosi Mariner may be a really great combination for you though so I stick with 7-5.
Miss playing you guys but you didn't win out last match up, though your probably remember the last time we played in Logan where you did win. Personally I think that win took you off our schedule for being to good. Really in our first PAC12 years we needed to win all ou OOC game to be bowl eligible. 3-6 in conference was quite possible, but BYU has been obliging.
Now that 4-5 seems to be our conference floor we should put you back and quit with the FCS teams. (If we go 3-6 in conference anymore it will be a nauseating season anyway)

Re: What games do we win this year?
We got the SDSU monkey off of our backs in Basketball this year. We will do the same in FB! AND my son's entire Jr. All American FB team will be there at that game to witness it too!
Just another day in the (Aggie) Brotherhood
Re: What games do we win this year?
I am not sure which games, however with all the talent coming back the floor is 8-4. Anything less than that indicates Anderson was a bad hire.

Re: What games do we win this year?
I have to agree. I'm not buying the harder schedule business either. Fresno St. and Boise St. are starting with new QB's and lost lots of production. I believe the Bulldogs lost more than every FBS team except one, yet somehow we keep seeing people pick them as favorites for the West Div. I expect Fresno St., BSU, and SDSU to have stout defenses and they will end up winning games based on that but I think USU is in that same boat.... only with a really nice offense to compliment it. We may have picked the right year to miss UNLV and Hawaii too.

Re: What games do we win this year?
Here’s the way I see it.
Probable loss: LSU
Competitive Games: Bsu, byu, FSU, Wake, And SDSU
Games We Should Win: Stony Brook, Air Force, Wyoming, CSU, New Mexico, Nevada
Potential Trap Games: CSU, Nevada, Airforce.
Assuming we win the games we should and not fall in any trap games, we just need to win 2 of the 4 competitive games to have an 8-4 record.
I think that’s very doable with our defense and with Love running the offense.
I can’t say it enough though. The quality of play by our OL will determine if we go 7-5 or 11-1.

Re: What games do we win this year?
We will be favored in every game except Wake, LSU and @fresno, with SDSU and Boise being close to pickem. Think we beat Wake, split the other 2 and drop one game somewhere else in a beat case scenario, so 10-2 would be a realistic absolute ceiling. I'd say 11-1 but with so many toss up/tough games it's hard to see us not dropping at least 2 overall, even if everything breaks right.
If the O line reaches it's max potential, Love could single handedly get us to 10-11 wins though I suppose

Re: What games do we win this year?
Our reasonable ceiling. I'd go 10-2 for stretch ceiling. Just don't see us beating all of Fresno wake SDSU byu and Boise and likely losing at least 2-3 even with last year's team. Would love to be wrong.AggieUprising50 wrote:You think 9-3 is our ceiling?QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2019, 1:22 amI agree except i think the line decides if we go 6-6 or 9-3.AggieUprising50 wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2019, 11:33 pmHere’s the way I see it.

Re: What games do we win this year?
Right now, with the unknowns we have going in, I (personally) think that eight wins will be a successful season. I don't think seven wins would be a success, but I would not be crestfallen if that happened. Six or less and I would suffer varying degrees of disappointment.MetsJetsAggies wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2019, 2:09 pmWe will be favored in every game except Wake, LSU and @fresno, with SDSU and Boise being close to pickem. I think six wins only happens if Love takes a step back in his development or the offensive line is terrible. I think 7 is a reasonable floor this season.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are favored against Fresno St. by the time we play. I'm not buying what they are selling. I'm sort of shocked at the number of Aggies who see that as one of tougher games. I don't think they will be awful but I wouldn't rank them where they seem to be in comparison to our other opponents.

Fresno returns their entire DL from a D that ranked 17th in the country and return enough at LB and DB that they’ll still be formidable. Going to be a tough one for our offense to put up pts. Not saying we can’t win, but...Aglicious wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2019, 3:16 pmI wouldn't be surprised if we are favored against Fresno St. by the time we play. I'm not buying what they are selling. What Tedford did in 2017 was more miraculous than what Smith did for USU basketball last season. I can’t pick against Fresno in the West Division when Rocky Long is talking about going to a spread offense.Aglicious wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if we are favored against Fresno St. by the time we play. Well these results wouldn’t win us a conference championship but would definitely get us two P5 road wins and another victory over the Kittens. I’d rather win the conference but I think the upset win over LSU would get us more attention.Cosmo wrote:Woke Forest: W

I think it’s more likely than not we lose to Fresno, but I guess I’m more surprised at the gap-
I don’t think Fresno is that much better than SDSU but the gap is pretty wide.

Re: What games do we win this year?
Can you imagine how we'd be ranked at 5-0 with the win over LSU? That would be neat. Then to just.. fling it away with two losses to the likes of Nevada and Air Force. Honestly, it isn't impossible with how college football can be.. But it seems unlikely.
Re: What games do we win this year?
The definition of Aggie Blue Balls is beating LSU on the road then losing to Nevada and Air Force.
