Re: Real expectations for tomorrow?
Aggies by at least 10. This defense is way better than people are giving them credit for.

It will be a tough game. Wake is better than what fans here believe. However I think special teams could win the game for us. USU won 11 games last season but many of those wins came against weak teams.

Re: Real expectations for tomorrow?
I have a love/hate relationship with the first game of the year. Its like Christmas as a kid. You can hardly wait for it to get hear, but you have no idea what you'll get. There are a ton of reasons to believe this team will be really good and even special, but you never really know until you see it against somebody else. I'm scared because of our P5 road history, but I have a feeling we'll pull this one out.

I agree, I think our DLine will wreak havoc and Repp will have us all saying "Raymond who?"
What bodes well for us is our offensive line gets to break in against a green defensive line. Just don't crap the bed with turnovers and we should win by 10 pts.

I honestly think the defense is being overshadowed by all the attention Love is getting. The defense is really good and has NFL talent. I think we win the TO battle and the game and the headlines are about how stout the defense was.

I'm most concerned about our offense. How does the o-line look? Do the receivers get open and not drop balls? Will Sanford be a good OC? I'll still take the aggies in a low scoring game.

Re: Real expectations for tomorrow?
After watching several of their games, the position group on their team that scares me the most is their receivers. They are really good at making hard catches in tight coverage.
My three keys to victory would be:
-O-line needs to play well. Give Love time and open up holes in the run game.
-D-line needs to beat their O-line. Tipa needs have a hay-day and we need to stop the run.
-Our secondary needs to not give them easy catches. Tight coverage and make them work for everything they get.
If we can do that I'll say Aggies by 2 scores.

Every time I start to think we'll beat them soundly I remember Wyoming and CSU last year.
I expect to stop speculating and actually have a game to evaluate - that's about it.

Re: Real expectations for tomorrow?
Over the course of the week I have become more and more excited. This season has the potential to be a complete stud or a dud. First games are always hard to predict because you never know how everything will gel together. I am an Aggie optimist. I see us winning this game against a very good Wake Forest team. If we win, I see a good season ahead. If we lose, it is just a loss to a good team.

Re: Real expectations for tomorrow?
I know I'm excited to see the D play. I think they will have to make big plays for the Aggies to win. The offense will be good but breaking in almost a whole new o-line with 3-4 new receivers is going to be a bit sloppy I think in the first game. I think our O-line and receivers are going to be very good but the offense might take a while to get efficient and its a tough environment.
On the other hand Wake had its struggles last year on D so who knows. I think either it comes down to wire or the Aggies win running away with that being the least probable scenario.
I think this D has the potential to be as good as Orlando's last 2 years. Maybe even better. I think that will be what surprises Wake. The secondary does worry me a bit. I hope Haney's got his technique coached up a bit in particular. Our front 7 is going to destroy teams.

Re: Real expectations for tomorrow?
We are either close all game and they pull away or we are behind big all game and almost manage a comeback.
