Halftime

Have to give kudos to the band for a stellar halftime show for the basketball team. That was awesome. And what can you say about our men’s basketball head coach. Dude is one of a kind. The good kind.....

I thought it was really good. Coach Smith was hanging out in front of our section early in the game talking to everyone. My kid and some others from our section all went down and met him. Love that guy!

Coach Smith leading the band in “We are the Champions” was worth the 2.5 hr drive down from Twin.

I thought the same thing. My kids loved the car formation with the fire extiguishers for exhaust. It helps me give them a pass for not doing the Scotsman enough.

I usually could care less about the band's halftime show, but this one was great. It was awesome to spell out champs for the b-ball team and also for coach Smith to be the band leader for "We are the Champions".

Raise or not, he’s not going anywhere. This is his dream job. He’s as diehard an Aggie as anyone here.

The band did Bohemian Rhapsody back in 2016, my last year, and we also did the car with the fire extinguisher for exhaust It was cool to see it again, especially with the added implications of how a fire extinguisher was involved in our run to a MWC Championship...

Exactly! It's "couldn't care less". If you could care less, then there's still some caring to be had, which only diminishes Aggie84025's point. That's the point you were trying to make, right trombone_ninja? Right? Oh wait. trombone, you were in the marching band? Then you probably weren't emote-commenting on a poorly phrased expression...my bad. Yes the band is great, always has been, and getting better every game! I truly believe that.

Sincerely,

I've always enjoyed the band shows, as it is a part of the football experience, and yesterday's was absolutely TOP NOTCH. Excited to see more of that caliber.

It may have beaten out my previous favorite, when they played the Styx songs.. But that's just because I love that band.

I think we would be even better to ditch the scatter band and be more like Alabama State University. We should get them on the schedule and pay for their band to come perform at halftime.

The band looks like it has at least twice as many members as it did while I was in school, and sounded great!

I sat through the “imposter in the trumpet section” season where a mannequin was on a dolly being wheeled around....

This was significantly better!

I guess we're neighbors. Those were my two boys. I was really impressed with coach. He didn't just give them high five and send them off, he actually knelt down and had a conversation with them. That's the kind of stuff that kids remember...it's what makes them into lifelong fans.

Haha awesome. My girlfriend gave me crap for watching the coach more than the football game. But yes, she and I loved how cool he was with the kids. Praying he stays for at least a few more years. See you all at the next game if your season ticket holders.

Loved the band. They've added a ton of members and are doing a great job. Between that and the great entertaining product we have on the field, we just need to keep trying to get people to the game. This team and even the band deserve great support.

Membership is up to 174 this year. Never even broke a hundred at any point during my tenure. This is the first time the director has actively recruited people, and the product on the field is probably helping

I would argue the Marching Band and Pep Band are more important than the cheerleaders and dancers. I would love to see those scholarships used for band members.
