3 star LB out of Vegas. 247 had 2 crystal ball predictions both saying he was going to BYU. Good get.

Re: And the commitment is...
Wow. He was committed to BYU but decommitted in April. BYU fans all thought he was decommitting because he was going to take a big SEC or Pac 12 offer.

Re: And the commitment is...
He seems like a pretty good get! He had interest from all over. It used to be that all the kids that committed to the Aggies had few offers or no big name offers. That not the case anymore.

Now that is impressive. It must have been the Aggie blue mint and the fact that Culver's is coming to the valley that pushed him in our direction.

Re: And the commitment is...
Wait wait. I thought we only got the Cougars left overs? So this isn't true right? He probably just got those SEC offers to VISIT campus not play for them. I've been told by BYU fans that USU can't get good recruits if BYU wants them too.

Re: And the commitment is...
Nice pick up here. From what I've gathered, many of his offers came as a prospective LB. I know that is what Utah was looking at him as, but when he unofficially visited, he had grown a bit and coaches projected him to be more of a DE. I wonder if Gary sees him as a hybrid type guy

Re: And the commitment is...
There's no doubt his bigtime offers were either non-commitable or had been pulled. But either way it's a pickup that definitely had a BYU offer and a kid that had strong interest from some big programs.UtesAggs>BYU wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:12 amNice pick up here. Absolutely, I meant no slight. Just trying to give a bit of insight on what I've heard about him. I'm not sure what position he is playing at BG, but he could become a nice pass rushing end who could drop into coverage as wellRoy McAvoy wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:17 amThere's no doubt his bigtime offers were either non-commitable or had been pulled. I'll settle this one. Dahlin is coming here to play defensive end.UtesAggs>BYU wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:21 amAbsolutely, I meant no slight. Re: And the commitment is...
If he has the talent to do so he will. I think Nick Heninger will be a starter at the EDGE next year.Stockypoo2212 wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:28 amWhats the depth at DE? could he be a day one starter?
One reason Dahlin has flown "under the radar" so to speak is that it looks to me like he missed the 2018 season for some reason. However last week against well respected Servite (CA), Dahlin raked up 8 tackles, 2.0 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks.

He would obviously have the chance to start, but there is quite a lot of talent in front of him as well.Stockypoo2212 wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:28 amWhats the depth at DE? could he be a day one starter?
Nick Heninger, Elijah Shelton, Jaylin Bannerman, Justus Te'i, and Caden Andersen are all guys listed at DE that would likely have the experience to beat him out for a starting job. Although I think Shelton was playing as a linebacker against Stony Brook. Not sure if that move is permanent.

As long as we don't abandon the 4-man front, I think Shelton will stay at LB and Caden Andersen will stay at DT (I know he's listed as a DE but he never plays there).YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:36 amHe would obviously have the chance to start, but there is quite a lot of talent in front of him as well.Stockypoo2212 wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:28 amWhats the depth at DE? could he be a day one starter?

I didn't watch most of the 4th quarter (I had a miserable Texas game to suffer through), where did they have AJ Vongphachanh playing?aggies22 wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:40 amAs long as we don't abandon the 4-man front, I think Shelton will stay at LB and Caden Andersen will stay at DT (I know he's listed as a DE but he never plays there).YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:36 amHe would obviously have the chance to start, but there is quite a lot of talent in front of him as well.Stockypoo2212 wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 10:28 amWhats the depth at DE? could he be a day one starter?

Also, we all may want to get used to spelling that name now because it looks like he's gonna be around for a while.

One thing I will say for Gary, Dude knows how to recruit the big boys!! I love that we are beating p5 schools for these recruits. If we can keep doing this, we will be in the running for the MWC championship for years to come.

Fake news. No way we get a recruit over byu when they just beat a top tier SEC team and moved back into playoff discussion.

You would or would not be shocked? Pitcher plays with a lot of heart, but will more than likely be recruited over. So like clockwork, BYU-P fans are saying that BYU pulled their offer and non of the big offers are real and the kid lied.

Now watch him be demoted to two stars because of his verbal to USU, whereas had he verbally committed to one of the P5 programs he would have been promoted to four stars in a couple of weeks.

Yep LOLZ fun to watch them get reminded that they were all high on the kid not to long ago, and cried like whiny little zoobies when he bailed on them.
Just another day in the (Aggie) Brotherhood
