I think we are better than Boise this year. I like our matchups against AFA as well. I expect us to lose to LSU and another loss coming from either Boise, AFA, or BYU.

The only lost so far was to a team that has yet to lose a game.

Re: so how do you feel about the season going forward now?
If the offense continues to struggle scoring touchdowns inside the red zone (well below avg vs rest of FBS teams) there will be a problem. Scoring one td and kicking three FGs won't beat Boise or CSU and probably not BYU.

Isn’t one problem with that stat the amount of TDs we score from outside of the red zone?FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2019, 1:02 pmIf the offense continues to struggle scoring touchdowns inside the red zone (well below avg vs rest of FBS teams) there will be a problem. Re: so how do you feel about the season going forward now?
Given the red zone problems and so many drives (as a percentage) ending with a punt or field goal (attempt) I feel less confident going forward than I did at the start of the season. I agree with AndroidAggie eight wins is most likely, hopefully we can beat AFA and make it nine.

My expectations are the same. 9-3 is my projection. 10-2 would be fantastic, 8-4 would be good, anything less would be disappointing.

Re: so how do you feel about the season going forward now?
I don’t think BYU is as much of a tossup as other people seem to think. Sure, they’re better than last year but they haven’t improved enough to beat us in Logan. They never do well toward the end of the season anyway.
LSU will beat us and make the playoffs. AFA could easily beat us at their place and I wouldn’t even be mad about it, although slowing down SDSU’s rushing attack as well as we did gives me a small bit of hope. Boise is Boise.

Re: so how do you feel about the season going forward now?
Yup. And our pass defense is going to be tested much more than it was yesterday. If yesterday is the indicator there are some big concerns. I am hoping it was an off day for the offense or that SDSU is a very good defense.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2019, 1:02 pmIf the offense continues to struggle scoring touchdowns inside the red zone (well below avg vs rest of FBS teams) there will be a problem. SDSU is very good in defense. I don't think Agnew is that great of a QB. I think decent QBs will still pick us apart.

This is what it was. Seems to me that’s one of the best if not the defenses we’ll face all year. I know the transitive property is meaningless but they held UCLA to fewer points, and y’all saw what they put up against Washington State

I feel the same as I did to start the season. 8-9 wins sounds right. 7 could happen with some bad luck. 10 could happen with some good luck.

i went up from 7. i thought we'd be 6-6 or 7-5. especially after we found a way to lose at wake. but we found a way to win last night and that changes the calculus. i'm glad you're more optimistic than me!

Re: so how do you feel about the season going forward now?
Pretty sure it was posted here somewhere that SDSU had the 6th best defense (according to SP+, was it??) IN THE COUNTRY!!! Just behind blue-bloods like Clemson, Mich St, Alabama, etc. Not sure we'll see another defense like that this year, except probably at LSU.trombone_ninja wrote:gomretat wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2019, 5:04 pmYup. Re: so how do you feel about the season going forward now?
We should beat CSU, Nevada, Wyoming, and New Mexico. I give us about a 50%-60% chance against AFA, BYU, Fresno, and Boise. LSU is almost certainly a loss. I think we end up with 7-9 wins.

11-2. We beat Boise at home and take the Mountain Division title, then beat Hawaii in the conference championship game.

Re: so how do you feel about the season going forward now?
We have a very good shot at winning all remaining games with the exception of LSU.
Biggest game will be Boise State. Trap games will be Air Force and Nevada.
