Bright and Lefedge post-game

Post by bluegrouse » September 29th, 2019, 7:30 am

I just wanted to say it was an absolute treat to listen to those two guys on the post-game show last night. Funny, serious and committed. Loved it. Great to have these guys as Aggies.

Bright was an absolute beast last night...

I liked the part when Troy said he was still hitting the pile then realized Woody was in the End Zone . I think he said he told Woody that he wants him to teach him how to do that.
I loved the part when G Bright was asked about his favorite play and he said the TD catch by Caleb Repp, I think that shows that he's an awesome teammate.

I have seen anything posted about Scarver that return was flat out amazing. I was shocked he brought it out and then he was gone. Huge play when nothing was going right on offense.

That gave us a huge spark at the time. This O needs to straighten things out for sure. Tough fought game but we made the plays to win, this will help bring the Team together IMO. Winning ugly every game is fine with me.

Great blocks by Lavalle and then J. Green at the end to get him into the end zone!

Was that Lavalle who had some dude on his back on the Aggie sideline. That was a big boy block

Bright had the key block to seal his man inside to allow Scarver to get to the outside and open it up. Great job by the team on that play. I was screaming at Scarver when he brought it out and then I was going crazy when he took it to the house. Some of those block were awesome.

I think it's become such a foregone conclusion that if a kickoff reaches the endzone no one is bringing it out, that Scarver shocked Colorado State when he did.

I was sitting in 203 going “No No No”, which quickly turned to “yes! Yes! YES!”. My seatmates were giving me grief for obvious reasons.

Absolutely agree dyed. When Scarver started bringing it out of the end zone I shouted mistake,,,yes, the mistake was on me as that return was a thing of beauty and athleticism. CSU failed to hold their coverage lanes and their two outside contain players turned inside and lost all outside leverage on that return. That was a tough game and it got chippy as the contest wore on.

Scarver caught that kick right in front of me. The first 2 guys in front of him were yelling go go go. I was shocked he brought it out but then wondered if they saw something and wanted him to bring it out? That blocking was beautiful. Who is ST coach this year.?

Coach Stacey. Coach Andersen said the special teams had planned and worked on that but he didn’t know it and it sounds like he thought the same thing everyone else thought, why is he taking that one out

I was thinking that they must have seen something on film that indicated a chance for a big return on a deep kick like that. It was incredible! Changed the game for sure.

It looked like a wall at the 20 of CSU players to get him to me. I thought he would be lucky to make it to the 10. Just like everyone I was saying No! No! Yes! Yes! Go! Go! - it was awesome.

I just looked at this again, and see a couple other key players -

#92 Motu'apuaka took out 2 guys at US 15, and (as previously noted) Bright came all the way across the field and got a third guy there which gave Scarver the sideline
#55 Lavalle pancaked a guy at the 30 which cleared the rest of sideline
#25 Green stuck with the play all the way to the CS 25 to allow the cutback
#26 Nelson, who had been right with Lavelle, making the initial hit on the guy who Lavalle pancaked, cut back into the field and rerouted CS's #38 from the numbers almost all the way out to the hashmarks, which kept him from being in line to hit Scarver at the cutback

Kudos to Coach Stacy and Kudos to the kickoff return unit. A lot of great individual efforts on that play.

Scarver made to catch the ball and I figured he'd just take a knee. Bright must have seen things line up right because he started shouting "Go, go, go!" and Scarver was off. Bright was right because every Aggie had a block and it was a sweet touchdown run.
