Bowl Projections

Post by ThunderAggie » October 20th, 2019, 4:44 pm

Here is a list of some of the bowl projections out there.....

ESPN -
Arizona Bowl vs GA Southern
New Mexico bowl vs Marshall

247 Sports -
Hawaii Bowl vs Hawaii..... :headscratch: (Wouldn't be a bad game but I do not want to play a conference mate)

CBS Sports -
Potato Bowl vs Ball State

Sporting News -
Potato Bowl vs Miami Ohio

I really hope we make the Vegas bowl. I am tired of playing in tator bowl or any of these lower tier bowls. I would be happy if we made the Armed Forces Bowl, Cheez it bowl, or one of the other bowls vs a P5 team that needed a slot filled. Good thing there is a lot of season left...

I am a little Potato Bowl’d out, but it’s actually been long enough since we’ve played there that I think we end up there again unless we win the conference or get lucky enough to get placed in a non-tie in bowl.

After last night and as many good teams that we have in our conference I am just hoping to get to a bowl game.

After last night, when we moved to 3-0 in conference play by beating down our opponent 36-10? When we were up 22-3 at half, and their only touchdown came at the very end when several backups were in on defense? Are we talking about the same “last night?” You’re worried about getting a bowl game after that?

Yes. Any other team on our schedule not named New Mexico and that is an L. We can’t keep relying on ST and D scores to win games. Nevada was horrible last night... Hopefully we can get our crap together on offense but at this point it feels like our offense is getting worse as the season progresses and not better. Going into the 4th quarter last night our offense had scored 13 points and had great field position all night. Our D was very good but were aided a ton by penalties by them.

After the first series Nevada went the rest of the first half without getting another first down on offense that is pretty dominant. Offense obviously wasn't World burners last night but at the end of the night it was a 36-10 victory.

I would not mind the Arizona Bowl again I really liked that experience minus the loss plus it's nice weather in Tucson that time of year.

When a team has success on ST or defense, it’s like cheating because they are not part of the game. Good teams are not built on succeeding in those areas, it always has to come from offense. Also, if you ignore our 36 points, we really lost that game 10-0.

I never said take anything away from ST or the defense. I’m simply stating our offense was given excellent field position all night and also had 2 turnovers through 3 quarters and our offense scored 13 points. That’s not good enough, especially midway through the season and coming off a bye week.

First of all, I was just joking around, and I completely agree that our offense needs to improve. However, you did say we can’t keep relying on ST and defensive scores, which I disagree. If we are good in those areas, you should be able to count on ongoing success there. It may not always be a kickoff returned for a TD, but you shouldn’t classify all success as luck with little chance of repetition.

Keep in mind Nevada’s defense was/is dead last in conference against the pass. Yikes.

I've seen projections in the past of us playing in the first responders bowl and I would very much like that with how we are in Texas.
