Visiting Team Sideline
I think it might have been discussed a while back, but I'm old and can't remember. So, why don't we put the visiting team on the east sideline in front of the student section? It seems like this would be advantageous to us, no?

Re: Visiting Team Sideline
As a student I would hate to not have our guys right there so we can talk to them and motivate them. They seem to get a lot of juice from having the students right behind them.
That being said it would be fun to just get in the opposing team’s head all game.

I would suspect having the student body behind our team is considered an emotional positive boost. At any rate, unwarranted harassing of visiting players, staff or coaches would be even closer to no class than it currently is from the "adult" fans on the west side.

Re: Visiting Team Sideline
I thought it was just so we could make the visitors stand in the shade on late fall afternoons.
I believe there's a conference rule against students being seated behind visitor benches, isn't there?

2 reasons:
1. Sun during day games
2. Putting the opposing team in front of students is just asking for fan behavior problems.

Didn't GA switch this at the beginning of his first time at USU? I seem to remember that visitors were on the east side and the Aggies on the West before GA was coach.

No, as far back as 2001 when I started going to the games, visitors have always been on the west sideline.DreadPirateRoberts wrote: ↑November 2nd, 2019, 2:36 pmDidn't GA switch this at the beginning of his first time at USU? The Aggies have always been on the East, at least for the past 25+ years.

Re: Visiting Team Sideline
Could you imagine a field rush during a game like Utah, BYU or Boise?
Remember suspender kid at the Utah/BYU game a few years back? This is how you get suspender kid.
There really is no competitive advantage of it either. Just work on being loud when we are on D, then shutting your trap when we are on O. That is all the competitive advantage we need.
