It's a well known fact down here that Jimbo ran that place into the ground and bailed because he saw where it was going. There was no reason for him to leave FSU for TA&M other than he was getting out to avoid the fall he'd created.

If we had more balanced donors we'd be in a different spot. We just aren't though.
Without Laub our Athletic department is in big trouble.

It's pretty clear to me now that half the reason people want to overstate the poor performance of the team is to be able to go back and rehash a nearly year old argument.

The P5 teams have the money they do because donors have influence. There is probably a balance between shadow owner and biting the hand that feeds us.

I'm fine with Laub putting up the money to pay the man. He can also put the money up to get rid of him if he doesn't perform. It was worth the risk. I'm not going to fall apart because of a few bad performances.

I can think of about 75 million guaranteed other reasons he might have signed on at TAMU.

He was already top five in coaching salaries, but yes, good point. I just think after 2017 he saw it was going to take time to rebuild.

That 75 million dollar guarantee is so insane even for today's college football. The national media has made a big deal out of how big the Willie Taggart buyout is. A&M fans will either have to be patient or rich in a few years. A&M trying to be better than Bama, LSU, Auburn plus the other half of the SEC each year isn't going to happen.
