He has no fire anymore. This team quit after the LSU game

Re: Coach Andersen
If he fires Ena in the next few days, I’ll have hope for him. If Ena doesn’t get canned, I have no hope for the future of Aggie football.
But yeah, I’m on record that we should have hired someone else. I talked myself into being excited though.

Re: Coach Andersen
I look back and I was excited about the Anderson hire but now I wish we would have gotten Jay Hill. He is young and hungry to prove his position. Anderson looks like he is just coaching for recreation and a good past time while living in Logan.

For a self-proclaimed “defensive minded” coach, to say he failed this year is an understatement

Read my posts from then, I warned you all, also wanted and still want Jay Hill. This was the only place that would hire GA.

Re: Coach Andersen
My honest opinion is that we should have allowed our AD to do his job in hiring a new coach. Who knows what that ends up looking like, but I believe in process over results and that was a poor process.

He needs his own players and recruits. Not giving up yet. He changed this program and deserves a little patience I think.

Re: Coach Andersen
Message should have been. Non seniors your fighting for a spot and role on team next year. Extra practices to work in tackling and fundamentals nothing of sort happened and didn’t see any emotion anywhere - players and coaches

Re: Coach Andersen
Not sure how to articulate it or what the real problem is, but something is off with the program. Players look like they don't care. No discipline on the field. Poor schemes. No one seems to be having fun. Kent State was excited and played with passion. We looked like we were taking the Bar Exam.
Culture and attitude start at the top. That was GA's strength last time. He is not a good game manager (IMO at least) and his coordinator hires have been spotty. What made him a good coach was he got the most out of everyone and recruited pretty well. Not sure on recruiting but we do not seem to be playing with any energy.
I would love for people closer to the program to chime in.

Re: Coach Andersen
Bad take. The same players looked better earlier in the year. The horrible regression is coaching.

Re: Coach Andersen
Geez you guys. Come on! We are going to be fine. Let coach get his own players in. Everyone thinks we had a great team last year and should translate to the same this year. We only beat bad teams last year! Have a little faith. I think we’ll be ok. At least feel that way. Love all you Aggies though! Love reading the topics.

Re: Coach Andersen
I tend to feel this way as well. I wasn't excited with GA getting hired but we played crappy teams last year and lost a lot on the offense. defense has been concerning all year it's sad that one player made the whole defensive squad better but it is what it is. There's a off-season to get better. I'm actually feeling optimistic that the offense will get better next year. I'm hoping through spring camp I can feel better about the defense.aggiesdidwhat wrote:Geez you guys. Come on! We are going to be fine. Let coach get his own players in. Re: Coach Andersen
He had a look in his eye at the end, which was either “Justin is getting fired for this” or “You know what, screw this, I’m done.” Not sure which, but I think it was one of those two.

Re: Coach Andersen
Said it at the time, said it during the season, saying it now. Wrong hire, potentially disastrous hire.
When a rich friend has to coerce the only program in the country that would even answer GA's phone call it's obviously the wrong hire.

Re: Coach Andersen
I don't necessarily disagree kofdog, but he needs a D C, a linebacker and a D End coach, a Safeties coach and passing game coordinator. Now the bowl game debacle is over Gary needs to acquire some real coaches, especially a D C who wouldn't take a 3-4 defense returning 9 starters, change it to a 4-3, and fail to instruct them in position and tackling drills.

Re: Coach Andersen
The icing on the cake for me is the not-so-veiled threats at the press and the cops who did their jobs the other night. Such irony that he did that whilst forgetting to do his own job tonight.

Re: Coach Andersen
He needs to take over the D next year. It won't hurt because he sucks as in game head coach making HC decisions. Get an OC with a pulse and let Maile do that. If he keeps Ena he will be fired with a 1-11 record next year.

Re: Coach Andersen
I hated this hire from the beginning. This isn’t 2012 anymore. Completely different team and situation from the first time he took over. Plus he didn’t do anything at his previous gig at Oregon State that was worth getting excited for.
I hope he proves me wrong. I just wish we got a hungry, up and coming coach like we did with the Craig Smith hire.

Re: Coach Andersen
Getting warrants for urine because someone though they smelled Pot is doing their jobs? Its a waste of taxpayer money and harrassment. And they got urine warrants that only show metabolytes instead of a blood draw that could actually show possession in the jurisdiction. Gary has a lot of faults starting with Ena but wow.

Re: Coach Andersen
Following that game Wells finally completely let go of the offense and added Patterson as DC. So structural changes were made which is what some people want now.

Not seeing anyone calling for Andersen’s head. Mostly re-iterating concerns about him being the wrong hire. Not the same thing.

Re: Coach Andersen
Tons of talent lost. Some big injuries. Extremely hard schedule. Some of you are pathetic. We have one of smallest budgets in a small conference and you guys act like we should be Alabama. This is the life of our program.
I love Gary and will allow him to bring in his own players before making judgement. Hell, if we didn’t have the players Gary brought in this year we may have only won 3-4 games.
Go Aggies.

Have any of you that want Jay Hill even watched a Weber State game this year? Their offense is as bad as our defense. I like Hill but if he coached this team I don't think we even go bowling.
