What is the worst way to lose a bowl game?
1) Getting run over by a lower-tier G5 team en route to their first-ever bowl win.
2) Throwing a go-ahead interception against a rival that hasn't won since 2001.
OR
3) Entering the game as the #11 team in the nation and proceeding to get absolutely handled by a 7-5 team.

I’d have to say #3, but the all are pretty bad.
Edit: at least for Utah it was Texas, one of the biggest names in football. I guess they have that going for them.

#1 is like a kick to the groin. #2 is like a punch to the gut. #3 is like getting bopped in the face. All suck, just for very different reasons.

I think bowl games are losing meaning. We're going to see fewer and fewer players who care.
Time to fold the bowls into a playoff system.

Number 1, because it was us (for the second time).

Bowl games are stupid. Most of them are totally meaningless exhibition games. I have felt that way for a while now. Only the huge ones mean anything at all.

#1 is the worst but since it is the 3rd time in the last 5 years that USU has done this in a bowl game, the shock has worn off for me. Not exactly a sign of a big time program is it.

It's easy to call the bowl games meaningless to make them hurt less when you lose, but then call them big wins when you win them.

Re: What is the worst way to lose a bowl game?
1 - Team bus breaks down
2 - Entire team misses the team bus
3 - Team misses the game due to miscommunication. Schedule said "Friday, December 16th" when in actuality, the game was on "Thursday, the 16th."
4. As a joke, the team decides to let the offense play defense and the defense play offense. GA moves into the announcers booth and the ESPN announcers take the sideline as the coaches.

Re: What is the worst way to lose a bowl game?
By that logic all our nonconference games are meaningless and possibly our conference games since we could go undefeated and still miss the playoff. Bottomline is we played a 6-6 mac team on dec 20th and lost in a game they put up 51. Not a good look.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑January 1st, 2020, 7:52 pmBowl games are stupid. It is sure more meaningful to be there than not be there.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2020, 1:13 pmIt's easy to call the bowl games meaningless to make them hurt less when you lose, but then call them big wins when you win them.
