Senior Bowl about to kick off at 12:30 pm MT!

The announcer just said Jordan Love probably has the most at stake in this game.....wow! Talk about pressure!

Announcers said the coaches plan on starting Jordan Love and play him through the 1st quarter! Then they hope to put him back in the 4th quarter.

Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
Like Herbert, Love arrived in Mobile with a lot to prove. His 2019 tape was hard to watch at times, especially after his breakout 2018 campaign. There are many reasons for his struggles last season -- new coaching staff, new offensive line, many new skill-position players -- but Love admitted that part of the reason he regressed was that he was trying to do too much to help the team. In some ways, he was under less pressure in Mobile, where he's had a lot of experience working with new faces.

Love was sharp in all three practices. And while the ball explodes out of Herbert's hand, Love's delivery was effortless -- and yet with similar arm strength. Love also showed much better touch on deep balls, something that we saw throughout his college career too.

But is he a first-round talent? Without a doubt. NFL teams will have to convince themselves they can limit the mistakes that plagued him in 2019 when he had 20 touchdowns and 17 interceptions, but much like Daniel Jones a year ago, Love will benefit from having much better players around him at the next level. In terms of his physical abilities, he's drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes, and like Mahomes, he'll need to spend a year on the bench before easing into a starting role.

He played 2 drives. He was 2/4 for 15 yards passing. He also had like a 6 yard run but called back because of holding. He had a nice 40 yd deep ball but Denzil Mims from Baylor was a just a foot or so too slow. Patterson of Michigan is playing now and threw an interception not too long ago. Hopefully they go through Patterson and Gordon of Wazzu so we can see Jordan play another quarter or so. They didn't really give it too many chances.

He had a deep ball that if the wide receiver would have flattened out his route a little he would have had a big completion. Honestly, I don't think the play calling really allowed Jordan to do much. The moment they took him out, they had Shea Patterson throw a wheel route that went for 65 or so yards.

4 straight runs at one point in the first drive. One got a 1st down, then the other three led to a punt. Besides the two deep shots that both were close misses, Love wasn’t given many chances, like you said. A long drive by the other team also burned a lot of clock that 1st quarter. Hopefully Love gets the 4th, like they said the plan was.

Yep. Play calling this 2nd quarter has been pass heavy, so less time has come off the clock. 1st quarter was lots of running and wasted time. Patterson has had a few good throws, but also threw a bad pick a few bad mechanic throws.

Hopefully they let JLove sling it a little in the 4th even with a 14 pt lead by Team North. They need to let Love get some throws. He has only thrown it 4 times. I want some deep balls!

Just came back in the 4th qtr with 7 or so min. left. First play was a flea flicker, the guy deep.was doubled with safety so JL went outside for 11 yards. Next play was run and RB fumbled....not much time left now.

Had a nice run to pickup a 1st down on 3rd down. Hopefully he can get another pass or two in!

And another run for a 1st down on 4th down!

North Team (Jordan's team) wins 34-17.

It was a bit frustrating though since Love was not able to showcase his talent as much. He had the least amount of throws for any quarterback. Overall, I think the Senior Bowl really helped Love, specifically in practices. Most scouts watching would understand Love was not given as many chances in the actual Senior Bowl game. Great to see so many articles and tweets about Love. Hopefully he gets taken 1st round to a team that can develop him.

His final stats....
Passing --> 4-6 completions, 26 yards, 0 tds, O int
Rushing --> 4 carries, 4 yards, 0 tds, 0 fumbles
(2 "rushes" were kneels in final minute which lost him yardage....his actual rushing yardage should be 2 carries, 7 yards)

This seems like his stats this season. They don’t look great but there is more to it than meets the eye. If the wide receiver on his deep ball would have looked for the ball instead of just running he would have had a huge TD.

the week long practices are more important than the game itself. Most scouting departments will spend the week in mobile and then have a guy or two stay for the game. JL did his damage during the week (he did very well).

Yup, disappointing how it worked out. RB fumbled the ball away on one of his possessions. One of the first comments was about JL's decision on one of his early plays, the RPO. That seems to be a the question W/JL. His decision making. They had a discussion late in the game where one guy said JL had no memory and would continue to throw even if he's just been intercepted. He said something like JL doesn't have that stop? button. And the two guys kind of disagreed if it was a problem. one said it was good to forget bad plays, the other guy said there are times when you need to put the ball away and not take the chance.

Remember those last drive for the win interceptions? Seems like they are starting to actually watch JL's film.

Streaming below the picture was a mock draft with JL going to the colts at #14.

Overall it's probably a wash. The game didn't hurt him or help him. The guys said he was shaky in the early practices.

I saw a mock with Jordan going to Tampa. I'm not a bucs fan, but that would be a good situation for Jordan Love- getting Bruce Arians as a coach!

Pretty much every article ive read has said he has had a very strong week of practices. I think this experience has boosted his draft stock.
