Awesome. Sounds like this kid says all the right things! If we can play like he talks it sounds like we will have everything we need. This would be a HUGE get!!!!

Thank you for all of the interviews you do! It is really appreciated! I love reading about future Aggies! Super excited about McGriff...seems like he knows he is needed and wants to do all he can to fill those voids.

My favorite quote.... "I want to be one of the top receivers in the Mountain West and win the championship!"

We need more guys with this attitude. Knock off them Broncos!

Can you clarify, aggies22, he went to Nebraska for the coaching, then left a year later because of that same coaching staff, correct?

Well for one, as I've posted in other threads, they had switched him from WR to play Linebacker.

Yes. He followed Coach Frost to Nebraska to play either wide receiver or tight end and after his redshirt season they wanted to move him to linebacker. He wasn't interested in the move and he chose to leave. Roy McAvoy did a great job finding this tidbit online and I verified it with Justin.

Pretty stoked to see what this kids got. A 6'6" WR in the MW is a monster.

Looking at his high school highlights there were a few plays were he absolutely laid out a player he was blocking. Any change he plays a TE position, or is he definitely going to be an outside receiver?

I'm excited to have a "receiver" with his size, no matter what position he plays.

Edit: Also, great article!

I would be absolutely SHOCKED if he ended up playing tight end.

Furthermore, a great blocking wide receiver is a tremendous asset.

What a bail out option for our QB's the next couple years throwing the ball up to McGriff.

I have a feeling were gonna be lofting up a ton of 50-50 balls in the redzone to this guy as well!

Aggies22, thank for you the interview! It's awesome.

One question I had from it. Mcgriff said nobody else was recruiting him, do you have any insight as to why that would be the case? (Early qualifier + bad timing for him after most teams filled up spots in the early signing period, lack of interest on his end, lack of other teams' interest in him, etc?)

Are we sure he is not moving to DE or DL? It seems as though the staff likes to push people to those spots.

I don't think his team is very widely known or heavily recruited. So while he did have early interest, it tapered off as teams filled their spots. Arkansas was very interested until they fired the coaching staff and the new staff went in another direction. Justin wanted to wait until February to find the right fit.

What are the kid's speed/athleticism measurables?

You keep using that word. I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Jefferson HS is here in Tampa and McGriff has been playing against legit talent his entire life. This should be a good get for USU. Hope he does well!

Having fellow Floridian Henry Colombi as his host and as his future QB was a huge plus for Justin.

I would love to see the Florida pipeline open up again for us. There is just so much talent down here that quality players often fall under the radar as the big three (now big four?) schools in the state trip over each other and the SEC while trying to get the 5 start players.
