Worst were Boise and Hard Rock before the remodel when I think it was called Sun Life. The NFL stadiums are all good. Jerry World is the best. New England and New York are fine but awful to get to.

Oklahoma, A&M, and Ohio State were amazing. Romney is a fun place to watch a game.

It was designed well. Starts high and right next to the field. People probably don’t care about phone service but that is frustrating for me at the games.

People don’t like Boise’s stilts and blue field but the track is what I don’t like. Hard to see in the lower bowl.

USC isn’t great to see the game but it is comfortable and they have a HUGE screen to watch it since you can’t see the game (okay it’s not that bad but it is overrated). Great phone service lol.

If I were single I think I would go to all the Aggie games.

I don’t understand why more stadiums aren’t like Seattle’s. CSU and others maybe prefer the oval look to rectangle? Not steep enough and you should be closer to the field sitting on the 50. Everything else about CSU is awesome though. Amazing facility for the MW.

Sitting right on top of the action due to proximity to the field and steep stands. Really not a bad seat in the house for watching a game. Creature comforts are another thing entirely.

Yeah, the blue turf is a crime against football but the worst part of being there is it is very hard to see the game in that stadium, especially in the lower bowl. Too far away and too shallow a slope. Definitely the worst stadium I've been to in terms of watching a game.

I have been to SDSU 3 times. If it was in New Mexico I’m sure I would have not gone back after the first time... USC is for the destination too (not right by the stadium though - that place is trash).

Boise State and UNLV are the worst by far. I assume the new UNLV stadium will be the best in the MWC by far.

Best is Penn State then Oregon. I love USU games obviously, but Utah and BYU are better in terms of amenities and atmosphere. Both are far worse in vehicle traffic in and out but comparable in congestion within the stadium.

In order of my first college game in each stadium:

UNLV: (20+ games) gross, hard to get to, windy and cold in the winter with large chunks of gravel flying all over, all to watch a terrible team.

USU: (40+ games) small, limited food options, little tailgating. no student section, or crowd, when I was in school, but now it is a strength at many games. NEZ and new press box elevate this from the worst on this list in 2006 to the top third. best bang for your buck for concessions.

Utah: (5-6 games) smaller than their pride would indicate. the worst setting of the 3 utah schools, but the best product on the field year in year out and convenient public transportation comparatively.

BYU: (1 game) best atmosphere in utah, least knowledgable crowd. looks like a cruise ship from far away, contains way more sick people on the inside. possibly the only place in america where a woman who is knitting a scarf tells you that you cannot boo at a sporting event.

Oregon: (15ish games) stadium holds 57k or so but the parking lot holds twice that on game day. smells like weed every time the ducks score, which is often. hot with no shade, good food.

Boise State: (4 games) always cold, parking is always annoying, ok food. sight lines are the worst of any sporting event I have been to. Not comparable in terms of "big time" to even utah/byu.

SDSU: (1 bowl game, 20+ NFL games) falling apart. always empty, no matter who is playing in it except for once a year when there are fireworks. parking sucks.

Tennessee: (1 game) stadium is ugly on the outside but somehow uglier on the inside. Fans were annoying. weather was terrible. crowd singing rocky top is great. fans think they're bama when they're really closer to Kentucky.
Georgia: (1 game) big crowd, lots of tailgating but sprinkled all over the campus. Not as fun as I expected, but it was thanksgiving and they played ULL. Lost to GT the next week, so it was a down year. Beautiful campus. would recommend.

Colorado State (old): (1 game) of all the stadiums on this list, i was most pleasantly surprised with CSU. crowd felt big time pre-game. big tailgating crowd, lots of activities (was homecoming). Lost on a hail mary that set up a FG. inside was pretty bare-bones, nothing impressive, but was clearly better than even what USU has going now.

Penn State: (1 game) grew up a penn state fan. crowd is out of this world, even for akron. food lines were very short.
stadium is huge, sight lines vary. beautiful setting. the parking lot is the 4th biggest city in the state on game day. bucket list level stadium. a classic.

Navy: (1 game) in such a sketchy neighborhood that i honestly did not feel safe walking to the stadium. instead of retired names/jerseys, they list famous naval battles. crowd was surprisingly good. felt like a big time atmosphere.

Maryland: (1 game) huge lines to get in, took forever, despite being at 50% capacity or so. they have a 5 lbs pretzel covered in crab. it is gross, i highly recommend getting one. team sucks. crowd sucks. setting is meh.

At the SDSU game this last year they only allowed a single person at a time on the escalator to the upper section I was in because they were afraid it would collapse. Seriously guys, it is SDSU and it isn't close. I've been to UNLV and it is a football paradise in comparison.

BYU has, since the last time we played there, build walkways in each of the four corners so you can get from the side to the endzone without returning to ground level.

There are stadiums where the front row seats are good cause it rises you to seeing above the team like Maverik. Utah and BYU's are like that. But then there are places where the front row is right on the ground, which is great for feeling close to the team, but bad for view of the game.

I loved the atmosphere at Texas A&M the most, but sat too low and the sight lines were terrible. The Alabama game was back in 2004 and it wasn't the same place it is today. I don't mind watching games at UNLV, but a lot of people don't like it. Boise State is terrible place to watch a game. I watched from the sideline at Arkansas State and in a suite at Air Force.
A lot of them I have been to multiple times and my opinion varies per where my seats were.

I don't like Dallas (I am actually a Cowboys fan). Its too big and the screen is too bright (and big) in my opinion. Very distracting.

Instate stadiums rank as follows for me.
1. Utah they have great tailgating sold out crowds everyone is in red, loud student section, public transportation helps a lot with traffic. They have started a $80 million expansion which will increase capacity to more than 51,000 it feels like a major college stadium.

2. Byu is a large stadium with lots of concessions, and plenty of fan amenities, nice setting, tailgating is without any booze and is not all that much fun it does fell big time with more than 60,000 people at a game.

3. USU very nice west side, new, good views of the field good sound system, plenty of parking, cheap tickets, concessions are ok , east side needs upgrade.very small with limited tailgating.it does not have big time feel given the size and crowd involvement. but it is home sweet home.

MOFAMS...of course...but really it is a nice setting and with the NEZ and West Pressbox/Suites, it looks much better
Washington...the view to the lake plenty of concourse room...great spot
Auburn...incredibly welcoming fan base
Utah...post renovation...should be even better after the taxpayers pay to make it better yet again
CSU...seemed like a great stadium, game was cold and there was no one there...thankfully Williams stepped out

Worst:
Boise State...so much wrong with that stadium
SDSU...Geo is right..it's a pile of garbage...at least the Aggies won the game
Tennessee...looks like garbage on the outside and the theme continues on the inside..sound system was impressive though

The 1988 Pro Bowl in Aloha Stadium...might be in contention for worst of the bunch now but that was so long ago I don't remember it being a dump...and I was only 9. I'm pretty sure me and my dad were the only remotely sober people in the entire stadium...a guy died that game falling off of one of the concourses...another one took a nasty spill down the stairs in our aisle taking out a few people as he went, ending up unconscious at the bottom in a bloody mess and hauled off by med staff...all very eye opening for a little boy.

Also did a tour of Lambeau Field in Feb 2011 after the Packers had won the Super Bowl...very cool...would love to go to a game there.

USU - home sweet home, views in all directions are amazing, not a bad seat in the place.

Worst:
Boise - worst sightlines of any stadium I've ever been to at any playing level (basketball or football) and it's ugly in every way imaginable.

Boise- sight lines in lower deck are as bad as it gets. Upper deck is tolerable
Washington- one of the prettiest settings in all of football. Awesome stadium with the renovation.
WYO-
Colorado State- Old stadium, tailgate was some of the largest I have seen. Huge dirt parking lot of people tailgating.
Oklahoma- Awesome stadium and people. Was in the sun almost all game and it was hot.
Texas A&M- Prior to renovation. One of the coolest places ever.
LSU- Awesome stadium. Game was hot as hell. Had to park 2 miles away. We got to the stadium and they don't allow purses. I had to walk 2 miles back to the car to take my wife's and mother in law's purses. By the time I got to the game i as wet as jumping into a pool.
Tennessee- Awesome environment. Got sick of hearing Rocky Top since we were getting our butt kicked.
Wake Forest- Got our butts kicked, but really liked the stadium/trip.
Michigan State-
Wisconsin-sight lines in the Aggie section were garbage. Fans were kind of douches. Got told to F-off about 15 times walking to the car without saying a word to people. Mostly I am sure were students. Trip overall was awesome.

Best college stadium I've been to was Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, Wisconsin. Bar none. Big time college atmosphere, all over the stadium and campus. They do some things that are kind of goofy because of their traditions (They have some). But it's aweome to go to a game there. People get liquored up early in Madison, so best to keep your Aggie gear covered into you get into the stadium. Once there everybody is fairly cool, but better cover up when you walk back to your car. By the end of the game everybody is fairly well smashed and the swearing and other stuff can get a little obnoxious. I bought a Wisconsin Swearshirt at a local Shopko and wore it in and out, and donated it to my host after the game when we got back to his house.

Jones Stadium at Texas Tech in Lubbock was a dump when I was there-- worst pressbox ever. Washington State's Martin Stadium was, in a lot of ways, like old Romney Stadium, but they have improved it a lot in recent years. They have a big press/loge facility on the south side, a west end zone complex like our NEZ. They had big plans to double deck the North Stands but it has never moved forward. Maybe Bob Wilson wants to tell us what is happening there, especially since their coach left. And like somebody said, Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles has historically been a dump, though they have made some major improvements in the last few years. But if you're not sitting on that side of the stadium, it's still a dump.

I've had great experiences at most of the Mountain West and WAC schools I attended over the years. Few of them are what I would call really "great college football venues." Colorado State has a really nice stadium since they built the new one, and UNLV's will be really great when it gets finished. Too bad they will have to charge $100 a ticket to attend a game there, and to see the same old crappy football. But you can have a lot of fun at most of the MWC venues. I have found that Wyoming's fans are the most gregarious and playful, and its pretty fun to go to a game there, but Laramie is definitely not a "destination." Be prepared for that.

Ive been to Rice Eccles and LaVell Edwards. Both nice facilities. Utah's is much superior to LES. The Utes have used their membership in the PAC12 and the cash that came with it to up their game. But LES still is the same as when it was rebuilt in 1980, and you always feel like you need to show a recommend from the Bishop when you walk through the gates. That is until you get inside and have to do battle with some of the most obnoxious fans you will ever sit next to Frankly, I'd sooner go to Laramie (see above).

The worst I've been to was the Kibbe Dome in Moscow, Idaho. A crappy experience any way you slice it. Idaho fans love their Vandals and they have to, to tolerate such an eyesore. I know they have plans to replace it, but those plans never seem to pan out. However, right there with it is Albertson Stadium in Boise, Idaho. Just not a very well designed stadium-- typical of those with a track running around them. Plus their "trough" men's rooms are an anachronism that is definitely to be missed. I won't go there anymore, no matter how big the game is, because of that one item. I'd sooner take my chances going out in the parking lot and peeing on somebody's tire. Their "Stueckle Sky Center" is their version of our "West Stadium Center" on stilts. It's okay, but nothing that special. I will give Boise State's athletic department props for one thing-- they know how to put on a football game. Our folks could learn a thing or two from them. Now if they could just improve those rest rooms . . . .

But before we Aggie fans get too comfortable, Maverik Stadium leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, the athletic department has picked it up a notch in the last few years and invested a ton, but there are still too few rest rooms on the east side, and concessions on the east side are beyond abysmal. And, frankly, can we get rid of the high school bands running the concession stands and go back to the days when it was professionally run by the university, your food came out in a hurry, it was pretty good quality, and you didn't get asked for a donation every time you bought food. If you're going to have them man it, just up the price on everything a dime, and give them the proceeds. I just want to buy some food, I don't want to hear about the band program from XYZ high school.

Agree Vic, about the beginners, pretenders and want to be types running at least the east side concessions.

The kids taking the passes and some time ago, the money, to park on the east side leave much to be improved. I inquired a few years ago where the money for the parking fee was going, and it was going off campus to a high school marching band or a pep squad. TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED...the $$$ should have gone to USU athletics..period. Think petty and stay small was the subtext radiantly obvious to me from this experience.

I fear the USU financial experience has high centered on "Don't spend a dime to make a buck...dig your heels in to stay back water".
