2021 NFL Draft
2021 NFL Draft
That was awesome seeing Jordan Love picked 26th overall. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect an Aggie quarterback to be drafted in the 1st round. All this got me thinking, on the current roster, which players will get drafted. I honestly think that only Alfred Edwards is on any NFL radars. Who else has a shot?
As an aside, Jordan Love is awesome, every clip on him or article has been nothing but class. What a great kid.

Re: 2021 NFL Draft
a lot will depend on what kind of season the players have this year, to get themselves out there. especially Scarver, Nathan and our LB's.

Re: 2021 NFL Draft
Currently I think our next big nfl name that could go fairly high is Andy Koch. Kid is very good and athletic enough to develop into a very good lineman.
As far as next years seniors. Maybe Alfred but he is only going to be a junior. Seniors I’m not sure we have a pick. However both safeties will get a chance in shaq and Troy. Same with several other guys in justus, Heninger, Our favorite player in Jordan Nathan and I’m sure I’m missing a few. I’m curious what warren does next year if he can stay healthy. However I don’t think he is fast enough to get anything more than a camp invite.

Re: 2021 NFL Draft
Here's what I predicted nearly two years ago in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=47688&p=545127&hili ... fl#p545127
Here's my prediction for anyone on the team who has been in the program for at least two years or is a Junior or older:
Tier 1 (High probability): -
Tier 2 (Decent shot): Andy Koch, Alfred Edwards
Tier 3 (Long shot but still a chance): Henry Colombi, Troy Lefeged, Shaq Bond, Cam Lamkin, Karter Shaw, Justus Te'i, Savon Scarver
I think I did pretty decent there.Right now I think our guys with an NFL chance are,
Tier 1 (Good shot): David Woodward, Dax Raymond, Alfred Edwards, Jordan Love
Tier 2 (Long shot but still a chance): Jontrell Rocquemore, Tipa Galeai, Ronquavion Tarver, Quin Ficklin, Rob Castaneda, Jamarcus Ingram, Darwin Thompson

Re: 2021 NFL Draft
I could see Savon Scarver making a team as a kick return specialist. He is a stud on kickoff returns! One of the best I have ever seen. He could also play a little WR for a team as well if he develops his skills in that department.

Re: 2021 NFL Draft
I've always wondered why we don't use him on punt returns as well. It seems like a waste to have a slower receiver like Nathan fielding punts. Anyone have any idea why?ThunderAggie wrote: ↑April 30th, 2020, 4:39 pmI could see Savon Scarver making a team as a kick return specialist. He is a stud on kickoff returns! Re: 2021 NFL Draft
All about hands and I think initial agiility. Scarver is more of a straight line guy who does a good job seeing his seams and exploding to them but a kickoff is easy to field vs. a punt. There is no one in your face and its coming in a direct line. Punt returners are generally chosen secondarily for their return skills and fielding first.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑April 30th, 2020, 5:08 pmI've always wondered why we don't use him on punt returns as well. Re: 2021 NFL Draft
OrangeCountyAggie, i know that Nathan is held in high regard on this board, and that he does have some problems, but what is your problem with him? every post that you make disparages the WR and Nathan in particular. even this little post, adding in the little insult of a "slower receiver", i'm not sure i get the reason to put him down in every post. just asking?!OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑April 30th, 2020, 5:08 pmI've always wondered why we don't use him on punt returns as well. I will have your simple a$$ know that Jordan Nathan as a JR in high school ran a 4.29 40, he now runs a 4.45 - While he got slower he is still faster than you ever could beOrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑April 30th, 2020, 5:08 pmI've always wondered why we don't use him on punt returns as well. Because he’s got LITERALLY thee most dependable hands on the team....direct words from the coach - thank you....I wish you would stop targeting the kid in your conversations like he’s the worst option we have.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑April 30th, 2020, 5:08 pmI've always wondered why we don't use him on punt returns as well. Re: 2021 NFL Draft
AH YOU'RE BIASED! Savon's also not as shifty tho, so that's a problem on punt returns. He is faster, and he has good vision which is why he does so well on kickoffs, but that doesn't transfer the same over to punt returns.taniataylor wrote: ↑April 30th, 2020, 10:38 pmBecause he’s got LITERALLY thee most dependable hands on the team....direct words from the coach - thank you....I wish you would stop targeting the kid in your conversations like he’s the worst option we have.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑April 30th, 2020, 5:08 pmI've always wondered why we don't use him on punt returns as well. Punt returners that are not speedy like jojo natson get a short leash with some.
A few years ago there was a punt returner who has a very bad game. During that game, aggie “fans” were pretty brutal toward him. I’m someways “lucky for him” the thing people took away from that game was an extremely controversial call that cost us the game.
However, there were people that were very concerned for his welfare after the game
. People forget that (most) student athletes are actual people and are evaluated and determined by our coaching staff to be in the position they are in.
