Our rushing offense will be good.

Post by SLB » July 21st, 2020, 11:38 am

Shelley is a dual-threat qb from Utah.
Henry-Cole averaged over 5 yards per carry for the last 2 seasons for Utah
Warren was doing very well before the injuries last season, and Warren averaged over 5 yards per carry last season.
Thompkins averaged 12.8 yards per carry last season, and Nathan averaged 5.7 yards per carry last season.

John Gentry and Elelyon Noa will be two of the best RBs to ever play at Utah State. As long as they stay healthy you can bank on it.

Now wait a minute... don't be getting me all excited for this team and our offense when we might not play this fall. I'm getting too excited to be let down now.

Don't forget about the Jet Sweep's. We have the horses that can run it well.

Wow, that's some lofty expectations! We've had some good ones. Really excited to see what Warren can do when/if fully healthy.

Especially when we are all expected to be eternally pissed at Gary. Don't go bringing up good news around here.

Our offense will look very different and I think that will be a very good thing. Our rushing attack should be lights out due to all the above mentioned reasons. Another benefit will be red zone scoring. We were straight terrible last year with RZ scoring. Ranked 122 last year. We should reverse that trend dramatically with a good rushing offense.

I've been told that Deven Thompkins runs a 4.3 40. I would say that is adequate speed.

I figured he was talking about having an o-line and receivers capable of blocking well enough to run it effectively not players with the speed. We do have that I think. The former? I'm sceptical.
