I'll start.

Offensive Coordinator: I think Yost gets plucked away. We are probably looking at a new OC, maybe still even Sanford.
Defensive Coordinator: Patterson and Maile.
How does offense perform: Not much better than it did anyway. Wells wouldn't have snagged Mariner, Repp, Warren. He likely would have brought guys in, I'm not sure it would've made us any better, especially without Yost.
How does defense perform: Better. We don't move to the 4-2-5. Tipa shines a little brighter.
Final record: MAYBE 8-5, likely 7-6 still. I don't see him beating SDSU and Fresno, but maybe they catch Wake.
Bowl game: Either Frisco or New Mexico.
Significant accolades for players: Woodward and Tipa stand out more defensively, not sure if the win MWC DPOY though. Love still is a first round pick.
Who is our coach in 2020: If Wells wins 8 games, he would have likely left at 2019, I think. We are probably talking about Gary being the new coach in 2020, or maybe Jay Hill after another great Weber State season?

Not sure if Yost would have left or not, it would probably mostly depend on who was trying to lure him away. I could easily have seen him stay because of Love and looking to go somewhere bigger after 2019. If Yost would have stayed in this scenario, I think the offense does much better and we finish with an overall better record, with 8-5 on the low end and 10-3 at best. Everything else is probably decent speculation except for Woodward. I'm not sure he would have avoided the concussion issues.

They would have beat Wake and the Zoobs just based on a D coordinator who wasn't an idiot. Pressure wouldn't have been on Love to force things every drive either.

Two thoughts on this:

1. Our receiving group was TERRIBLE last year (just ask any NFL scout). Minus Repp and Marriner it would have been a disaster.
2. Some of our games might have been closer with better defensive coaching/scheme but Wells would have found ways to lose them regardless (classic Wells).

I'd venture to guess maybe 6-7 wins.

We don't have Mariner or Repp last year if it's not Gary. That said, I think the defense is a bit better. I think we lose to SDSU and win either Wake or BYU at home and finish with the same record.
