Our old friends facing off

Post by GameFAQSAggie » September 8th, 2020, 8:12 pm

Anyone else remember our old friends, the Houston Baptist Huskies who came to the Gossner one year, got hot shooting 3 and were leading us at halftime, and who some of our fans got behind for their other two games and picked up their first win of the year over Howard in the Gossner, and even went over to thank our fans who cheered them on, and who some of our fans later on that year went to cheer for when they came to Orem later that year? Well, they have started up football and will be facing off against our other old friend, Matt Wells and Texas Tech.

It's a safe bet that the Texas Tech fans who were already unhappy with the hire of Wells will EXPLODE if he loses to the Houston Baptist Huskies, or is even trailing them at halftime!

Do we know what the school enrollment is GameFAQS or what level of college football they are playing now? Nice recollection GameFAQS, and thank you.

Houston Baptist is only down 21-10 at half. That's at least enough to get the fans who hated the Wells hire fired up arguing they were right. Allowing the huskies to hang in there longer could turn some fans who were supportive of the hire against him!
The huskies winning this could put agmacs old avatar into use!

AgMac's old avator could be in high demand about now! YoungBlood would know some Red Raider fans who would be interested in it!
5:25 left. Tech only ahead of Baptist 35-27, Baptist with the ball!

HBU scores touchdown, but fails two point conversion.

Texas Tech has gotten enough first downs to escape! Matt Wells was saved by a goal line stand at the end of the half, that and HBU not kicking the field goal, like he was saved by the ARod punt return.

Going to be a rough year for Texas Tech although looking at the rest of the Big 12 there are several teams in the same boat. Kansas State and Iowa State both lost to lower level teams and Kansas is currently getting blasted by Coastal Carolina 28-3 at the half, so maybe Wells will be able to win a few.

Yeah two losses to the Sunbelt and a loss to Coastal Carolina. Probably one of the worst weeks for a P5 conference ever.

Also how bad is Kansas football? If you ever are depressed at how bad the Aggies are or one of the teams you support is, just think you could be a Kansas football fan. They haven't won more than 1 conference game since 2008.

Oh yeah, Coastal Carolina is in the Sunbelt now. Good for them to have moved up. I'd forgotten they were now D1a.
