Re: Oct 17th. Aggies better suit up.
First of all the MWC has to decide to play, and with 5 schools in states that do not allow football to be played a vote to play may not be easy to come by, also CSU is having some problem getting going so that is not a slam dunk vote.
If play does start I believe it should be played with no fans in the stands, like the Clemson - Wake forest game. I want us to play but it may not be as easy to do as we would hope.

Re: Oct 17th. Aggies better suit up.
If play somehow does start there will most likely be no fans in the stands but if there are I'd imagine it would be students that are socially distanced. That would be the best way to pay it safe with some form of fans in attendance in my opinion especially with what the university is doing in regards to COVID 19 and student events this year.oleblu111 wrote: ↑September 13th, 2020, 4:25 pmFirst of all the MWC has to decide to play, and with 5 schools in states that do not allow football to be played a vote to play may not be easy to come by, also CSU is having some problem getting going so that is not a slam dunk vote.

Can you remind me the issue with csu? I recall something about their head coach and issues but I thought players came out and debunked that for the most part. A big problem there is high schools are not playing, and the university ofColorado is also not playing either, to be able to get approval might not be easy.

So am I correct no sdsu, fresno, sjsu, csu, or afa? Re: Oct 17th. Aggies better suit up.
The MW teams in states that can play football should combine with the leftover PAC-12 teams.
Since we all know that California will be on lockdown for years. The crazy people in Seattle wont allow any teams from Washington either, although WSU could probably play. I haven’t heard what is going on in Oregon with sports.

What needs to happen is the MW needs to allow certain programs to play outside of the conference for this season similar to how Air Force is playing Navy and Army. I don't get why USU can't play even a few games against some local teams. It would be better than nothing.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑September 13th, 2020, 6:13 pmNew Mexico's governor doesn't want them to play either.

Boazy defines herself as a major NW city, having little in common with central and eastern idaho (the Mormon [sic] hegemony). I believe as Portland/Eugene go, so goeth the Boazybunch.

Re: Oct 17th. Aggies better suit up.
Exactly there are 7 teams who are in states without laws that restrict play. You could play 6 games plus a potential non conference game maybe. These teams could also help fill the late kickoff slot especially if the pac12 keeps on being the pac12. My question is why can these 7 teams not play?Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑September 13th, 2020, 6:36 pmWhat needs to happen is the MW needs to allow certain programs to play outside of the conference for this season similar to how Air Force is playing Navy and Army. Who says no:
Boise, UNLV, UNR, USU, Utah, Arizona, ASU, CSU, CU-Boulder, AFA, WYO, and UNM?
It's not a great deal for the Pac-12 schools (from their arrogant viewpoint), but it gives everyone a chance to play a full season.
I know this actually won't happen, because college football is far too rigid and stupid for this, but still.

Re: Oct 17th. Aggies better suit up.
I'm afraid all of this talk about possibly salvaging a season is going to end up like a scene from Peanuts. Lucy is going to hold the ball while Charlie Brown approaches to kick. We all think there might be a football season - and then Lucy pulls the ball just as Charlie goes to kick and he falls on his back.

Thanks! It’s great to be back here but will be better when we are all discussing our teamS playing.
I think Clemson did about what I thought we’d do. Just kind of sleepwalk through the first game. No fans makes it hard to generate energy.
I’m holding out hope the Aggies will be playing soon!

No school in the Pac-12 or the MWC will play unless the conference approves, and those that can not play would see it as a major disadvantage not to play given that no eligibility is lost by playing, so they will be voting no play. You can not decide on your own to just play.

I've heard reports that schools weren't reporting their covid cases. Didn't really make a connection to FB, but that seems like a really good reason not to report them. NCAA all about the TV money. Love attending college sports but...IMHO, right now a school campus is probably one of the most dangerous places on earth. I would be scared S-less to go on any campus right now. College age kids horrify me. I'll avoid any place where I see that age group around.
