BSU should hire Tom Herman .
They should and I hope they don't. Wish the timing of that firing would have worked out for us, just to at least gauge his interest. Hopefully BSU stays in house or at least in their coaching tree.

Texas has money, has in-state talent of the highest level. It's not easy to win anywhere but Texas should be easier than most.
I agree. I do wonder why no one has been able to win there consistently since around Michael Vick. I mean to me that is a top 5 program with its resources and location to recruits.
They won after Michael Vick was in college, although I don't know what he has to do with Texas.

They should have the resources and the location to be great, but it hasn't shown to be the case over the last decade. Mack Brown fizzled after Colt McCoy left and Charlie Strong was out of his element. Herman should have been given more time. The Sark hire is a questionable one. I don't know how he is an improvement over Herman. He really wasn't great at Washington.

Dammit. I think he really would have struggled in Boise simply due to inexperience.

I have a brother-in-law who follows Oregon very closely and he said their insiders have indicated that Boise has not interviewed Avalos. Not saying they haven't talked or whatever, but that was the word a day or two ago.

Most of the family trees at BSU have one branch.

Didn't Avalos' defense get lit up today? When I think of Oregon, i certainly don't think of defense (with the exception of that Thibodeaux kid... He's amazing).

They were good with Colt McCoy as well, but yes it has been a long time.

That’s right. If I remember correctly that is the last time they were in the national championship. Then colt got knocked out early I believe and Alabama ran away with it.

Yep, although it was a top 10 scoring defense last year when they won the Rose Bowl. Jury is still out on whether he is a good DC.

Wait, is Michael Vick the point in time your are referencing or the Texas starting QB? I was really hoping that you just thought all African American qb’s look alike and got him confused with Jamarcus Russell.

Smart of Boise not to give him the job. He is not ready. I was hoping he would get it.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess he meant Vince Young.....because when I read his post my brain automatically replaced Michael Vick with Vince Young...
