So what do we expect Saturday?
Do we see the USU players and coaching of BYU and 2nd half Nevada or do we see the players and coaching of LA Tech and Hawaii?

Re: So what do we expect Saturday?
I'm hoping that the players and coaches are remembering last year well. They need any motivation they can muster to make this the best game possible. A strong showing here could help carry over some momentum from last week for the offense and rejuvenate a struggling and demoralized defense.
Re: So what do we expect Saturday?
I expect a win.
I hope the "2nd half Nevada" offense shows up and plays the whole game, but if not, I still expect the team to put together enough for a win. Anything less will be another disappointment.

Re: So what do we expect Saturday?
Good question. It's hard to answer because that has been our biggest problem all year: consistency.
About the only thing that I can expect with real consistency is that we will probably have a crowd of 14,000 - 15,000 that any other FBS school would report as 18,000 but that ours will officially announce as 12,000.
But here's my expectations for the game: GA kept saying last night that he wants to establish the run early so I expect our first 3 plays will be on the ground. I think one of them will be for enough yardage to get the 1st down. If we don't have a mid-to-deep pass after this to show we're being aggressive, I think we sputter on the first drive. Regardless, the offense will start clicking in the 2nd quarter and we'll go into half-time up by at least 6. I expect NMSU to have red-zone troubles and be forced to try for the FG more often than not. They have a decent kicker so I expect they'll make most of them. If our offense hasn't found its stride in the 3rd quarter, our defense will wear down and we may give the game away in the 4th. If the offense is in rhythm during the 3rd, we should win the game handily.

ugh last year.... we should have won by 21 last year. So many stupid penalties. Our guys threw that game away and nmsu put together their one drive at the right time.

Re: So what do we expect Saturday?
If our offense shows up kind of, I expect a game much like Idaho State. If the Nevada 2nd half offense shows up, i expect a complete (I can't express myself without swearing) kicking, and nothing less. If the offense from the Hawaii game shows up, then I expect a low scoring win.
Either way, a win! We need to throw the ball down field all day long. If we cannot get the OC to realize this, then I question how we'll ever get decent QB's to come/stick around.
