2022 NFL Draft
2021 was a weird draft year for USU and the MWC. Next year we should be back on the board. Here's my prediction for Aggies in terms of the 2022 NFL draft:
High Probability:
Justin Rice
Shaq Bond
Devin Tompkins
Slight Chance (but definite FA contract):
Savon Scarver
Alfred Edwards
Kyle Mayberry
Unlikley Drafted (possible FA contract):
Nick Henniger
Marcus Moore
Carson Terrell
Demytrick Ali'fua
Devonta'e Henry-Cole
Cash Gilliam
High Probability:
Justin Rice
Shaq Bond
Devin Tompkins
Slight Chance (but definite FA contract):
Savon Scarver
Alfred Edwards
Kyle Mayberry
Unlikley Drafted (possible FA contract):
Nick Henniger
Marcus Moore
Carson Terrell
Demytrick Ali'fua
Devonta'e Henry-Cole
Cash Gilliam

Re: 2022 NFL Draft
Devin Thompkins is only a junior.
I think Carson Terrell has a shot. He is pretty good at what he does and I think he has been grossly underused during his time at Utah State so far.

Surprised Scarver doesn't get more love. He is one of the best return men in the country.

Yeah he does have some Stallworth in him unfortunately.aggies22 wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 12:03 pmHe has to prove he can catch the ball.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:45 amSurprised Scarver doesn't get more love. He is one of the best return men in the country.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft
Glad you said that. I have felt Terrell should have been used much more. Maybe the new staff will see how much Carson can contribute, and turn him loose.

I think Alfred Edwards is halfway between “High probability” and “slight chance.”OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 12:22 am2021 was a weird draft year for USU and the MWC. Next year we should be back on the board. Here's my prediction for Aggies in terms of the 2022 NFL draft:

Re: 2022 NFL Draft
I agree.
I watched the BCS final for games last year and noticed how much they used the tight ends in their offenses. Sometimes three of them in at one time. USU just refuses to use them and i don't know why. Cooley and Dax Raymond are the only two that i can think of that had much role at all in the USU passing game.
And speaking of Raymond - he can't get a sniff of an NFL field - is Terrell better than him? I don't think so.

Caleb Repp was one of Jordan Loves top targetsYossarian wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 2:49 pmI agree.

Yes. I forgot about Repp. He was a great part of that offense. Good call, there. More TE in the offense, please.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 3:09 pmCaleb Repp was one of Jordan Loves top targetsYossarian wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 2:49 pmI agree.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft
Even so, if he proves capable of fielding punts and has a blazing fast 40 time during pro-day, I could see a team taking him solely as a specialist. The All-American label and return TD record holder SHOULD be enough.aggies22 wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 12:03 pmHe has to prove he can catch the ball.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:45 amSurprised Scarver doesn't get more love. Still crazy to think we have someone with those credentials on this team!

Well said. Scarver is clearly in that category as well.mcaggie1 wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 2:11 pmI think Alfred Edwards is halfway between “High probability” and “slight chance.”OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 12:22 am2021 was a weird draft year for USU and the MWC. Re: 2022 NFL Draft
You're right. Although Thompkins was skittish before. If he has the expected breakout year (coaches are raving about him in camp) he'll likley declare early.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft
Yeah Scarver is incredible. A Jet Award winner, All American and might be the best kick off returner in the country next year. Very cool he is an Aggie.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 10:24 pmEven so, if he proves capable of fielding punts and has a blazing fast 40 time during pro-day, I could see a team taking him solely as a specialist. Re: 2022 NFL Draft
I’m always stunned by how many teams DO choose to kick to him. It’s like they didn’t watch the tape.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft
You don't think Shaq has a chance? He's been one of our best players the last few years, has the size, speed, and high IQ. Here are some interesting stats:Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑May 3rd, 2021, 8:50 amHere's my opinion on this (this will be fun to look at in 1 year from now).OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 12:22 am2021 was a weird draft year for USU and the MWC.
