As always, thanks for the excellent write up.

I must admit, it seems our DL could potentially be a bit small if it goes Heninger, Lee, Moore, Vaughns.

Those weights are 235, 310, 255, 230 lbs.

It seems like Moore's body size makes more sense on the outside. :noidea:

I'm curious if the 255 listed for Marcus Moore is a typo?

Yeah, I also wondered if we will see Marcus play some DE as well. He does have a high motor. Joyner may be a little undersized for DE in some situations so move Moore outside and replace with Paea or Hale at DT.

I've updated my article for the loss of Jahaziel Lee. Bo Maile is going to play DT.

Yeah saw that and thought he must have lost 30 lbs.

Glad that I'm not the only one questioning our physical presence up front. Remember the stryker is an undersized LB. Our standard defense (on paper at this point) is going to look pretty inviting to anyone interested in running the ball.

This is a big jump for BO MAILE as he was #5 player in a previously posted depth chart. How is it BO made such progresses over the summer?

Bo won't likely be in a starting role but he has gained nearly 40 pounds since last season.

Same, but you don't hear me bragging about it.

In case you guys are wondering, the hardest position to recruit for in college football is the 3-technique. While we are starting to see some serious specialization and a ton of demand being put on cornerbacks, it is still more difficult to find a guy that can adequately play as a disruptive interior defensive lineman. You need a guy that is strong enough to beat OT through that b-gap, but also quick enough to get the jump on OG.

No doubt a solid 1-technique may be the anchor of your front seven, but quite frankly it is easier to find insanely strong dudes that have the dimensions necessary to take on a double team and move about four feet per play. Not saying it is easy, by any means, just that there are more guys that fit this role. I think we have great 1-techniques on this team (especially excited to see what Paea can do), but we will need either Moore to play a little bit stronger than his frame (he fits in much better here than in the Pac-12, to be sure), or for Motuapuaka to have a little more off-the-snap quickness than what I saw the prior two years.

Defensive Ends - As good as we've had in recent years.
1-Techniques - Good ceiling and great depth
3-Techniques - TBD
