Bonner isn't our savior but he is our shepherd
Great game by him tonight, but he's not the kind of player to do it all on his own. Once we got the running game going, it let him flourish.

390 yards, 4 TDs and 1 int? Not bad at all.

I agree he has better accuracy of our options right now but please stop calling designated runs with him... he's gonna get hurt

Re: Bonner isn't our savior but he is our shepherd
There are definite limitations to his game. He is pretty off on anything over about 15 yards past scrimmage airtime, the last past notwithstanding, he can't throw outs from the far hash, and he puts the ball in harms way on a lot of those throws. But he's a leader and makes a lot of good reads with good placement over the middle and the short side.YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑September 11th, 2021, 12:00 amOur cherubic signal caller has done it again. As long as we can keep pounding the ball and finding ways to get it to receivers in space though that will be all right. He benefitted from some really poor safety play tonight. Be interesting to see how it goes the next 3 weeks.

Kyle would ruin him. Know you are probably joking but Kyle has a qb who has 10k career yards and reduced him to a handoff machine.

Re: Bonner isn't our savior but he is our shepherd
Iv been way impressed with Bonner and surprised at some if the negativity on here. MAYBE negativity is a bit strong but the dude has our offense moving the ball well. I’d think everyone would be ecstatic at what we have at QB after last year. If we are comparing to Jordan Love then yeah, his arm isn’t as strong but it’s beyond serviceable. 390 passing yards last game? Give the guy some credit.

Super happy with Bonner. Like thrilled. His competence at the QB position is the biggest difference for this team on the offensive side of the ball.Usu0505 wrote: ↑September 12th, 2021, 8:32 amIv been way impressed with Bonner and surprised at some if the negativity on here. Remember, we didn’t complete a forward pass until week 3 and didn’t get a first down until Week 5 last year. At least it felt that way.
It’s looking like had we not chased Colombi away and had anyone but GA at the wheel, we would not have been nearly as awful last year.

Re: Bonner isn't our savior but he is our shepherd
I'm not trashing him at all. My point is he's much better once we have the run game as a threat and he gets into rhythm. Very happy to have him and he's clearly QB1.

Re: Bonner isn't our savior but he is our shepherd
I reread the “Bonner” thread. Like I said, “negativity” might be over exaggerating but instead of picking out what could be better how are we not graveling at his feet. It’s 2 games In and we’re already on our high horse trying to pick out flaws. I’m just going to enjoy where we are at. 2-0 after two games baby!
Also, isn’t every QB more effective with an established run game and found rhythm?
Sorry I hate when aggie fans bicker at each other on here. No offense intended on this, my point is let’s enjoy the ride. Crazy to be sitting where we are 2 games in after last years season.

Re: Bonner isn't our savior but he is our shepherd
Great points, I keep pinching myself with how well the Aggies have played this season. Certainly room for improvement, but the Aggies are 2-0 and came back to win both games despite being down by 10+ points in both games. If they can start out better the sky is the limit.Usu0505 wrote: ↑September 12th, 2021, 10:05 amI reread the “Bonner” thread. With how well Huntley has done in the league, you would think the Utes would have been championship contenders.

I mean... they were. Had they won that Pac12 championship game vs Oregon, they would have been right in line to get the 4th playoff spot. So they blew it but they were championship contenders.
