Is this really the best trash talk?
I grew up on a farm and ranch, still do a little of it today (not for a full time living), and actually wear that badge proudly. Never understood why anyone would literally "bite the hand that feeds them."

I did like USU's response a few years ago.

As my dad's bumper sticker says, no farms no food. I like to eat so I am thankful for farmers.

Re: Is this really the best trash talk?
Yet more evidence their fans are not only ignorant about football, but life in general as well.

Re: Is this really the best trash talk?
Anyone, these days, that associates farming/ranching with lower tier IQ occupations is displaying their own ignorance and mental deficiencies. Not only is farming an essential occupation, but a highly intricate field that requires more risk-taking guts than all the Provo consumed Built bars could eliminate in a lifetime.

Re: Is this really the best trash talk?
I’ve always been impressed with the knowledge of people that grew up on farms. I’ve always felt lucky to know them. They’re strong, fun, and they tend to have brilliant insights.
Has anyone ever said that about mommy blogging MLM essential oil dealers?

I was glad to see some Jersey cows in that video so I know for sure that the chocolate ice cream is real, from a brown cow, and not just 'chocolate flavored'

Re: Is this really the best trash talk?
All I have to say is that many of my best students as a professor have been farm kids. When they couple the intuition they have from working with mechanical and electrical systems their whole childhood with the mathematics and theory, they make very, very good engineers.

Re: Is this really the best trash talk?
I may be in the minority here but I thought boney was quite clever. And as a farm kid and still involved in agriculture I don’t feel their smack talk offensive. But I haven’t lived near Utah county in years and so maybe getting out of the bubble has lessened the offensiveness to me.
Go farmers!

Re: Is this really the best trash talk?
I've always been confused as to why some schools would chose a mascott that is an older Woman who likes younger men, it's very perplexing, and here's a great example of one chasing a guy down a trail in Slate Canyon (across the street from ViAg's first house) in Provo

That is the point, they are trying to be offensive, but truly aren't...slcagg wrote: ↑September 19th, 2021, 3:16 pmI may be in the minority here but I thought boney was quite clever. I take no offense either, I think the whole thing is kind of a silly. One of their players said, "We were going to protect our farm once."
I loved the University's response, they do a lot of great research to feed people.

Re: Is this really the best trash talk?
I mean I have many friends who are BYU fans and we just laugh about it such as the boney tweet. I don’t think most are trying to be offensive. But that’s just me. I love farmers and are proud to cheer for a school who focuses on that.NowhereLandAggie wrote: ↑September 19th, 2021, 3:27 pmThat is the point, they are trying to be offensive, but truly aren't...slcagg wrote: ↑September 19th, 2021, 3:16 pmI may be in the minority here but I thought boney was quite clever. Re: Is this really the best trash talk?
About 15 years ago I remember on one of the radio stations a byu fan ripping in USU and it being a "farmer school". The host said something about we all need farmers, the byu fan "I don't get my food from farmers, I get it from the store". Way too many idiots think like that.

Do I bust out the "PROTECT THE FARM" letter cards again? I've got a little PTSD from the last time, so I'm not sure.

Thank you 98.. Yes, virtually an inexhaustible supply supply of mouth breathing Lemming type idiots from the school in Provo. They do have a good team this season though.
