Re: Utah State vs. BYU game sold out
Sucks, but if we can't fill our stadium ourselves, it's marginally better to play teams whose fans travel and bring money to our program vs. those that don't. Hopefully, the Aggies show up on the field and in the stands to drown out any crowd noise from BYU-Provo.

It’s going to really suck to lose them as a home and home now that they are in the big 12, like it or not they bring revenue.

Re: Utah State vs. BYU game sold out
Their is zero way Utah State ever accepts anything less then a home and home with them. They may be P5, but that doesn’t warrant them becoming a big money game. That’s the exact reason we won’t play Utah. They think they’re high and mighty and don’t want to play in Logan. If BYU pulls that, I say screw em and move on. There’s better teams out there to play.HongKongAggie wrote:It’s going to really suck to lose them as a home and home now that they are in the big 12, like it or not they bring revenue.

Re: Utah State vs. BYU game sold out
Will the Big12 still be considered P5 with its new teams and the ones remaining after OU and Texas are gone? I would argue the AAC has almost the same level of football teams.TrueBlueAggie123 wrote:Their is zero way Utah State ever accepts anything less then a home and home with them. Re: Utah State vs. BYU game sold out
The AAC doesn't have the same level, especially after losing two of their top teams. This new Big12 is definitely a good deal lower than before, and will certainly be the least of the P5 teams. You can quibble over what the dividing line is between P5 and not (and I'm sure they will). If Boise State (and maybe SDSU?) get pulled in later, I think they've got a pretty good case.BleedAggieBlue0 wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2021, 1:31 pmWill the Big12 still be considered P5 with its new teams and the ones remaining after OU and Texas are gone? Re: Utah State vs. BYU game sold out
Well, we can't seem to fill our tiny stadium with just our fans, so we might as well use the zoobs to fill it. Whether it be 2 generations of abysmal football, bad marketing, small-town isolation, the fact that we have played in a lower-level conference for decades, or the fact that we aren't the "Laaard's Univeristy," we can virtually never fill the stadium to capacity on our own and pretty much always rely on the other team's fans to get a sellout.

Re: Utah State vs. BYU game sold out
The Big 12 will definitely remain a P5 conference. It’ll be the weakest P5 football conference. It will remain the best P5 college basketball conference, as BYU, Houston, Cincinnati are a basketball improvement from Oklahoma and Texas.
I, for one, am actually looking forward to getting to hit a KU basketball game every year in Provo.

I would argue that the big 12 is the top bball league. They may be some years but def not year in and year out. But to your point they will remain very competitive from that standpoint.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2021, 2:28 pmThe Big 12 will definitely remain a P5 conference. What's the chance that the Big12 ends up losing a couple of more members before it even begins? Big10 is silent but I could see them wanting to increase their grip on the basketball world by grabbing KU and one other current Big12 school. Then the whole domino effect begins again.

100% would be P5 as it stands unless they lose more teams (which is possible). They don't have as many name brand teams as other conferences but if you look at the records by conference right now, Big 12 is way better than the ACC and the PAC. I think the ACC could poach a team. The pac 12 could poach a team or two. I don't think KU goes to the Big Ten because their football is so bad and that is what conferences base expansion off of. As long as Cinci is a top 10 program in a couple years they will still be considered P5. I think that will good for the MWC and USU. I don't think the AAC will be able to poach our top teams, so a conf with us, fresno, bsu, and sdsu would still be the top G5 conf.

Haha I’m sure this was a joke so I’ll take it that way. I do watch lots of BYU games but it’s from an unhealthy hateful position. I don’t know if there’s anyone that dislikes BYU more than I do. I don’t care to have any conversations or relationships with anyone that tolerates that institution.OrangeCountyAggie wrote:Sounds like something a byu fan would say.BleedAggieBlue0 wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2021, 2:30 pmIt should be really fun to watch the new additions to Big12 basketball, I’ll be watching those games on tv for sure.ineptimusprime wrote:The Big 12 will definitely remain a P5 conference. I saw an extended family member, for the first time in years, big ybu booster (fmr walkon there), and he had to spend hours bringing up how wonderful ybu is and it's b12 addition. I just told him I'm too busy and could care less what ybu does. It takes so much energy and focus to not say anything un-Christian to these knucklehead douchebags. If I had my own farmhand, I would just mail them manure every day of the week the post office is open.
the rest of the people who actually are from Utah, and grew up here, never went there, never had any family ties to ybu, is beyond me how anyone could want to be a part of this nonsense.
I could who cares this happened against Utah, their fan base is as embarrassing as this
this is the quality of people who go to the ybu games and cheer for ybu
