When was the last 10 am kickoff at home?

Post by FloridaAggie13 » September 23rd, 2021, 3:13 pm

I recall 10 am kickoffs being the norm before the lights were put in prior to the 1993 season. Sometimes 12 pm kickoffs early in the season but once Daylight Savings Time hit a 12 pm start risked slipping into twilight if the game dragged. I remember Pacific with their run n' shoot offense lasting about four hours in 1990 and the game ending almost in darkness.

Any idea when the last time there was an early kickoff?

1:00 pm was the norm pre lights. I don't recall a single pre-noon kick before the lights went in.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I seem to recall an early game once in the BW days vs NMSU, but I don't think it was a 10:00 AM. Tailgating at 8:00 AM is a very interesting, I guess it's Bloody Mary's and Mimosas? Little to early even for breakfast beer.

Breakfast burritos and egg McMuffins sound great for a tailgate.

Planning to leave Syracuse before 7:00 and get to the tailgate no later than 8:00. I just have one stall just for this game, and I don't have a lot in the cooking department, but I'll be bringing a smallish propane stove and probably doing pancakes and bacon, or some such thing. Also picked up some ring-toss rings to use with my car window horns.
