Re: Passing Offense… Ugh!
I think the dbs were certainly the strength of their defense if not their team. Was really impressed.

Re: Passing Offense… Ugh!
When Gentry couldn’t take it to the house on his long run I knew we wouldn’t be able to punch it in.

It was both of them. Gentry broke a long run and was caught up to on the 7 yard line.

This is the one I was referring to with Gentry.splintorb wrote: ↑September 25th, 2021, 2:21 pmIt was both of them. Gentry broke a long run and was caught up to on the 7 yard line.

Re: Passing Offense… Ugh!
I know the dude had a good angle, but I was a little surprised he didn't score on the breakaway run I thought Gentry was more of a burner.
Go Aggies!

Too bad we don’t have a little better speed at RB both those runs could have been taken to the house.

Re: Passing Offense… Ugh!
To be fair, Gentry bumped that clear to the outside and then headed up the sideline. Skinner was the guy who caught him and he has legit 4.45 speed plus had the angle on Gentry. I don't think any of our RBs score on that play.

I thought the same thing. they are good RB's, but don't seem to have the extra break away speed.

Re: Passing Offense… Ugh!
Have Tia or Randolph shown any sign that they could contribute this year?
We have a couple guys that are struggling with consistency. Freshmen may not solve that problem, but I wonder why we only see the same guys at WR...

I didn't think either play was a speed issue. Db's are often the fastest guys on the field and in both cases they had good angles.

Re: Passing Offense… Ugh!
Neither did I. I actually thought our running game was fairly solid today across all 3 guys. Just couldn’t pass for the life us which some of that obviously was the Boise game plan. We won’t face a defensive backfield that talented again this year.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑September 25th, 2021, 7:36 pmI didn't think either play was a speed issue. Re: Passing Offense… Ugh!
I wonder if anyone can figure out the YAC on passes from Bonner which were not a non-screen pass. I can only think of 2-3 passes all year where he actually hit a receiver in stride past about a 5 yard throw.
The INT that went off McGriff, he had to jump up and reach back to get hands on it - I get the "touch it catch it" concept for receivers, but I can't see that he had much of a chance to catch it - and that motion in the middle of the field, it seems lucky that he wasn't cut in half by the safety. Most passes to DT he has to make a spectacular catch and falls to the ground.
Bonner is usually high, and either a couple steps ahead or behind the momentum of the receiver.

Skinner will be an NFL safety.Aglicious wrote: ↑September 25th, 2021, 3:07 pmTo be fair, Gentry bumped that clear to the outside and then headed up the sideline. Re: Passing Offense… Ugh!
Otto Tia missed the spring because he tore his ACL last summer. He played on special teams in the first two games but I think he will benefit best from a redshirt. D'Andre Randolph, although a big body, just isn't ready to contribute. He rarely saw snaps in either of the two scrimmages in August. Perhaps Tim Patrick Jr. or Jamie Nance will get a look?brownjeans wrote: ↑September 27th, 2021, 12:51 pm@aggies22 How did these two look this spring/summer?brownjeans wrote: ↑September 25th, 2021, 7:29 pmHave Tia or Randolph shown any sign that they could contribute this year?
