Csu history since joining the mw, 5-3 record. Don’t think we’ve dominated them.
2013: game in Logan. 13-0 win for the real aggies. Remember kapri bibs?
2014: Fort Collins. Loss 13-16. Think they kicked it to win the game after a long throw if I remember correctly.
2015: Logan. Win 33-18
2016: fort collins. 24-31. Loss. Nothing too crazy. This was year we went 3-9
2017: Logan. Loss 14-27
2018: Fort Collins. 29-24. Win. What the hell just happened.
2019: Logan. Win 34-24
2020: No game.
2021. 26-24 win.

3 on a row is pretty damned good if you don’t count the incident that will not be spoken of last year.

I agree that it should count as a loss. If anything, it made us look worse than if we just showed up, played the game and lost. It's good to have a feeling of it being behind us though.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2021, 11:46 pmOnly in the record book of a season that barely mattered. I would have liked to hear Al Lewis call that one. You would have absolutely no idea what just happened. But you would have known that one of the players on the field on the final play got away with a penalty in the first quarter- that he would bring up.AGinNEIowa wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2021, 11:53 pmI am interested to hear how Scotty G called that clusterf....

I had the pleasure of listening to Al call the Logan-Cedar playoff game on the drive up to USU on Friday evening.Yossarian wrote: ↑October 23rd, 2021, 1:07 amI would have liked to hear Al Lewis call that one. Cedar punted to Logan late in the game when it was almost a comfortable lead for the Grizzlies. Well, some sort of penalty was called on the punt play against Logan. I’m not sure what the penalty was, and it seemed to emotionally affect Al and especially his voice.
Two Cedar players collided with each other and they blamed it on Logan player! How could they make such a ridiculous call!?! I mean, they blocked themselves into each other and the Logan player wasn’t anywhere close! Josh, what just happened? I can’t believe they threw a flag on the Grizzlies, because if anything it was a Cedar player! It’s going the wrong way!
Now, seeing where the flag was thrown, the penalty might have been for something different, and either way the Grizzlies will need to run time off the clock.

When we joined the MWC. I thought we would develop a rivalry with Wyoming, Boise and continue to built rivalry with Nevada that was mostly BB at the time.
I love the start of a good rivalry with CSU. It has been the best "surprise" of the MWC move.

Re: What the #@%$ Just happened?!?
Ok, I don't know the every rule in the book, so I'm asking here:
The center had his hand on the ball. Doesn't that mean they the line needs to be set? At what point does the movement on the line become a false start?
Second question: The center takes his hand off the ball and runs off the field. Is that allowed? I thought that once the center had his hand on the ball, the ball was live once it left his hand.
Third question: The long snapper grabs the ball after the center runs off the field. He then repositions it almost half a yard away from the original spot. I haven't watched a lot of long snappers, but is that much movement common, or even allowed?

Re: What the #@%$ Just happened?!?
Not exactly certain of the answers. But clearly the guy on the far left of the CSU line was not set when the ball was snapped. Should have been a false start penalty on CSU and a ten second clock run-off right there to end the game, the kick play never should have counted. Thankfully the kick was missed anyway, so it is inconsequential. But my guess is the conference office is going to have a conversation with the game officials about that glaring no-call.dirtnsnow wrote: ↑October 23rd, 2021, 9:50 pmOk, I don't know the every rule in the book, so I'm asking here:

That was the game where David Woodward went into a scrum and came running back out with the ball to run it a few yards back for a touchdown. Re: What the #@%$ Just happened?!?
It was very fortunate the refs didn't call the false start. That kicker had the leg to hit it from 60. The sub rule is a diffent story but would they have run off 11 seconds after the chain crew took so long to get it set up? CSU screwed everything up on that play perfectly. Aside from all of the line confusion they still snapped the ball with 7 on the clock when the kicker when even 4-5 more seconds would have allowed the kicker and holder to set up, breathe and focus.swordsman1989 wrote: ↑October 24th, 2021, 12:18 amNot exactly certain of the answers. Re: What the #@%$ Just happened?!?
There were 11 seconds on the clock so I guess it depends on when the flag was thrown. I reviewed the replay and it looks like anything that could be deemed a false start occurred before the clock started to roll.CastIronAggie wrote: ↑October 25th, 2021, 8:56 amA false start would have included a 10 second runoff right? Aside from all of the line confusion they still snapped the ball with 7 on the clock when the kicker when even 4-5 more seconds would have allowed the kicker and holder to set up, breathe and focus.swordsman1989 wrote: ↑October 24th, 2021, 12:18 amNot exactly certain of the answers.
The center had his hand on the ball. Doesn't that mean they the line needs to be set? At what point does the movement on the line become a false start?
Second question: The center takes his hand off the ball and runs off the field. Is that allowed? I thought that once the center had his hand on the ball, the ball was live once it left his hand.
Third question: The long snapper grabs the ball after the center runs off the field. He then repositions it almost half a yard away from the original spot. I haven't watched a lot of long snappers, but is that much movement common, or even allowed?
Re: What the #@%$ Just happened?!?
Two things:
1) since CSU subbed shouldn’t the Aggies have been allowed time to sub. So shouldn’t we have done it just to run out the clock?
2) these are all great USU/CSU moments but my favorite is still the year before we joined the MWC and they tried an onside kick and our linebacker destroyed the poor kicker. I was there and I’ll never forget the sound of the hit then the collective gasp in the stadium.
